Very good question. I can answer it this way. Best player Ashdown, he's been immense, best improved player, definitely Nugent. As the season has progressed, so has he.

Okay well I've gone for Nuge but I also think Hayden Mullens has been very quietly effective for us.

He's saved (pardon the pun) us a lot of points this year, and I think Jamie will win player of the year.

Okay I'm going to own up to being a Jamo fan and I do miss him at Fratton Park - but fair do's for Jamie he is the future and has done very well with a good defence in front of him, and I'm sure there is a lot more to come from him.

Yeah Jamie is a very local lad he has stayed around not getting in the team for a while and could have left but he didn't and now he has been given his chance he has taken it so he is a very good player

It's a very difficult decision to make as the individuals have gelled so well as a single unit. I have voted for David Nugent because he has shown real mettle in the face of many detractors (amongst Pompey fans) when he was failing to find the net in the Premier League. I have said on many 606 threads slating him that, at this level, he can be a goal machine if he gets the right service. As he is our leading scorer this season I believe that statement is vindicated!

Interesting, that on the Football league show, Cotts wanted to talk only about the fans and how we have never got on the players backs etc, maybe we are, as the 12th man, the players of the season.

I think he is one of those types that excell at promoting teams, turning things around etc, but I wonder how he would do at a really big club, eg; Man U, the Arsenal.

I think he likes the adversity!

I think he is like the types of Paul Ince or Paul Hart really good at the smaller clubs and good at turning them around but maybe not as prolific at the highesr clubs like you can look at how Roy Hodgson done at Liverpool and then look how he done at Fulham, He is one of the managers who like smaller clubs with smaller targets so then he can Amaze people with smashing pash then targets and doing much better than you would expect them to do.
You know what I mean with what I said LOL I didn't know how to explain that easier

I would say Jamie Ashdown - I was one of many Pompey fans who were very concerned at the start of the season not knowing who would replace Jamo when he departed end of last season, especially with Pompey having already released Ashdown ! At one stage it looked like we would be starting the new season with possibly young Liam O'Brien as our first choice keeper, with Jon Stewart as cover !

Thank God Jamie resigned for us - what an excellent reliable goalie he has become, an ever present for us.
