Maxi is due a game. He a genuine goals threat for us. Gerrard is yet to have a real big game this season. Suarez needs to proove his worth too.
I would like to see Maxi behind the striker though, I feel he always plays out wide where he doesn't really have the pace but he has intelligence and likes to get in the box so why not at CAM/SS?
Only once this season have we been beaten by more than one goal, 4-0 at WBA the other week. I think this game will be just as close, with maybe a single goal deciding it. Sunderland will play their usual counter-attacking football, conceding possession....I would say LFC 68% - SAFC 32%, and hitting Liverpool at speed. I reckon keeping Bellamy quiet is the key to a SAFC victory. Prediction - Sunderland 0 0 Liverpool.
The problem is you can't afford to drift in and out of the game when in the AM spot, you're constantly being tested and pressurised. I don't think Maxi is good enough to play the role consistently, there would be too much pressure on him to create in possession rather than just find and create space for himself and others off the ball and keeping it simple as he does from the left wing. My team for tomorrow would be: (4-2-3-1) Reina; Johnson, Skrtel, Coates, Enrique; Adam, Spearing; Suarez, Gerrard, Bellamy; Carroll I don't think we'll go for that though, and we'll probably go for the good old standard 4-4-1-1 which sees our midfield sitting too deep and not enough players in Sunderlands box with the Gerrard & Adam partnership standing on the centre backs toes trying to take the ball off them instead of pushing up and trusting the centre backs to distribute the ball properly.
I would take out Adam and have only Spearing as the holding with Suarez and gerrard as AM's. I know it is a gamble, but **** it why not, get players in the box, get creative around the area, get in the box, in the box!

We need a win and with Sunderland missing a couple of key players we should step up and take the three points. Spearing needs to start and play and work hard in midfield I would also like to see Suarez and Carroll start.
I can see us starting with Suarez and Carroll with Gerrard in the hole and Downing wide. Spearing and Henderson in the middle. They are not going to beat us for pace out wide so the question will be Coates or Carra? Personally I'd like to see Coates given an opportunity. With Kuyt, Adam, Kelly, Bellamy and Maxi on the bench
My ideal team would be ...............Pepe................. Kelly...Coates...Turtle...Jose ..............Spearing............. ..Hendo...Gerrard...Downing. ......Suarez........Kuyt......... Subs Sterling Maxi Johnston Carra Coady I'd have left Carroll at home, until he gets the message to pull his lazy finger out and get his greasy hair cut!
this might sound like a stupid question but do you have the next stevie g or jamie coming through...because i know you have good youth coming through but it seems they arnt in the team and liverpool seem to be missing that heart of players who love the club and the majority of them just treat it like a job... i think liverpool are missing that passion by having grease ball, hendo and downing
