If we set up like this woul you be happy? ------------------ Mignolet ------------------ Bardsley --- O'Shea - Turner - Richardson Larsson -- Gardner --- Vaughan - McClean ---------- Bendtner ---- Campbell --------- Subs Kilgallon Bridge Gordon Colback Meyler Ji Wickham
Think he'll go back to 4-5-1... Gordon for Mig....i would, but don't think MoN will.. Is Vaughan fully fit? Is Larsson fully fit?...looked a bit knackered on Sunday, and was supposed to be loaded with flu.. Talk that Ricco took a knock....but expect him to be ok.... Think it'll be Colback in, and bench for Campbell.......but i'm probably wrong...

David Vaughan is hoping to launch a new bid for first-team football ahead of this weekend's game against Liverpool. Sunderland take on the Reds on Saturday with captain Lee Cattermole and leading scorer Stephane Sessegnon both serving suspensions. Vaughan, who hasn't played for Sunderland since the end of January due to injury, returned action for his country, Wales, last week. Now the former Blackpool man is looking to add to his 18 appearances for Sunderland this weekend by pushing for one of the vacant midfield spots. "Obviously with the suspensions there are a few places up for grabs in the team," Vaughan told safc.com. "Hopefully I'll get that opportunity to come in and do a job and help the team win the game. "It will be a tough test against Liverpool as they're on a high following their Carling Cup victory. "But we've got a good record at home so hopefully we can put them under pressure and get the three points."
There's no reason, barring injuries, why Poolie's team can't compete on Saturday. Hopefully Vaughan is OK and will play
Vaughan or Meyler? Campbell and Bendtner? Bridge or Richardson? Gordon or Mig? Many options and all make for good reading. Hopefully the team for the next 3 or 4 games do well and Catts and Sess will be made to sit on the bench at best. I'm not bothered whether they like that or not, I'm still fuming with them both for knackering our derby chances of winning. A place on the bench for FA Cup semi final would be a huge penalty to pay but their actions warrant it imo. I'd love to see Vaughan or Meyler grab their chance and Campbell up front.
Would go with that. Don't see a great many other options and we need two up top at home. Colback/Vaughan could be the only difference from the actual starting 11 Just as long as Bridge is not starting, I have never ever rated him as a player even in his Chelsea days. Ben Arfa took Richo apart but he is still a better option than Bridge I'm afraid.
I think Meyler coming in is a good idea as Vaughan, Colback and Gardner are all short arses, Fellani is a giant and will win everything in the air given the chance. Meyler is a tall lad and can maybe challenge Fellani in the air. I don't think Bridge did enough to replace Ricco at LB, if he had kept Amieobi out at the weekend then maybe but he has not shown me enough so far.
-----------------Gordon------------------ Bardsley --- O'Shea -- Turner --- Bridge Larsson -- Gardner -- Vaughan -- McClean -------- Bendtner ---- Campbell -------- .......This is what I'd like to see this weekend.
I cannot make my mind up about left back - HBA certainly skinned Ricco but that hasn't happend so often... Bridge in Sunderland colours under O'Neill is virtually unknown quantity to me. I think I'd like to see Bridge start to get a look at him.
-----------------Gordon------------------ Bardsley --- O'Shea -- Turner --- Bridge Larsson -- Gardner -- Vaughan -- McClean -------- Bendtner ---- Campbell -------- Would possibly put ricco in instead of gardner or larsson. Just think ricco's pace will make a difference against carragher. Both gardner & seb have looked tired the last couple of games.
