    Shoot me down in flames if you want but I can't think of anyone more deserving of it at the club and I can's see Ashley bringing in a player with any real quality. Why not give it to the local lad who's never deserted us (even if that is mostly because no one in their right mind would ever come in for him).

    I hope we do get a 'special striker' but, as far as Ashley is concerned, I can't see him being too liberal with the cash in the summer.

    sholas problem is he can play very well one game then be utter **** for like 4-6 games then play well again...in the carling cup game against chelsea he played very well against terry,ramieris, ferrirara, then played crap untill we beat the mackems 5-1 etc...


    for me keep hold of it and not make another mistake like we have done with martins and recently carroll

    We dont have to have a number 9 all the time, and when we do, it shouldnt be a case of "he's ok I suppose" or "well he hasnt left yet so why not".

    Well there's a thread I'd never thought I'd see... Let's give Shola the number 9.... Ummmmm. Gee. No. Apparently being Geordie and a striker is good enough to wear number 9 to some people? No. He's **** and always has been and really has only ever had a place in the starting line up due to injuries. We've been waiting 10 years for him to "take his chance". Although to be fair what harm could giving him the number 9 really do? He'll still be lazy, he'll still be offside, he'll still have the first touch of a rapist, he'll still give the ball away and he still won't score. Give him whatever bloody number you want.
