Bit of Triv. The top horse in the opener at Downpatrick carries some famous colours. They used to be sported by a Chaser, unusually trained by Dermot Weld, who went off third favourite for the Sun Alliance Chase and won the G1 stayers Novice Chase at the Punchestown festival. He was also second in the Irish Grand National and famously turned over a long odds on O'Brien hotpot in a flat maiden. Any ideas who the mystery horse is?
Rumours abound on Twitter that Spirit Son, last matched at 16/1 for the Champion Hurdle on Betfair, may be supplemented for the Champion Hurdle. Now that would be a story and a half! I'll believe it when I see it.
lads if anyone wants some extra chelts reading drop me a message-i have about 12 preview nights and timeform chelts guide which might be of interest-some of stuff in the previews is muck but ther's a few of them that are interesting with some decent insight and some good pointers
Afternoon, people. Nothing for me today but it will be interesting to see if Falcons Reign (4.10 Lingfield), Duke of Clarence (5.30 Kempton) and Southern State (7.30 Kempton) can finally win a race on the old all-weather after several near-misses between them. That's bad news re Niche Market. Really thought he had a great chance in next months Grand National. To lighten the old mood though I see that one making its debut tomorrow is Chuckle (6.10 Wolverhampton), what a lovely name for a filly by the way.
Racing Ace 4:50 Catt been off a while but could run into a place im told 12s when i took it this morning Royal Entourage should win again Stay Frosty
Afternoon All I like the chances of Marino Prince in the first at Catterick (2.20) and think Chargen could be worth an e/w play there in the 3.50. At Fontwell, for some reason I am drawn to Agree To Differ in the opener, so a small e/w play with this one as by rights it should have no chance . I fancy Ballyfoy in the first time blinkers to beat the short priced fav in the 3.00. Celtic Charlie in the 4.00 would be my ther bet there. Over at Lingfield I am hoping for a return to winning ways for Anjomarba in the 4.40. There are two at Kempton I like, they are Sinfonico (6.00) and Mister Green (8.00), whilst over in Ireland at Downpatrick, I'm pretty sure Gordon Elliott would fancy his chances of getting a double up today , but think the two best bets there could be Seriatim in the opener and Sky Pilot in the 4.15. Good Luck to all who play today and hopefully we can add some extra to our Cheltenham funds
Twitter is actually worse than the archetypal "bloke down the pub" cos you can't actually see the person who writes on Twitter. Most of us can spot a gibbering idiot in the pub but the internet provides everyone with a mask of anonymity. I could actually be a petite blonde lady from cornwall pretending to be a yorkshireman living in Berlin
The database errors come and go. I think Ron mentioned they might be caused by "Denial of Service" attacks on the site - Nass will be able to expand on that. Hope the sad ****ers attacking the site have a week off next week (or just **** off and die)
I've changed....LOL. To be fair I did have good reason as I KNEW who was going to win the Imperial Cup and I KNEW which bonus race it was going for!
