Newcastle forward Hatem Ben Arfa claims to be happy in English football and says he has no desire to secure a switch elsewhere any time soon.

The France international arrived in the Premier League back in August 2010 when he joined Newcastle on a season-long loan.

After making a positive first impression, he suffered a badly broken leg just two months into his time with the Magpies and was ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.

Newcastle had seen enough to make his move permanent, though, and he completed a switch from Marseille in January 2011.

He has struggled to hold down a regular role since returning to full fitness this season, but the 24-year-old says he is enjoying his time on Tyneside and feels he has plenty more to offer in the Premier League.

"I have no desire to leave England," Ben Arfa told France Football.
    Passion

"They play real football here with passion and the fans are great.

"I have already played at Milan, Madrid and Barcelona, but it is in England that I feel the best when I am on the pitch."

Ben Arfa is hoping he will be given further opportunities to impress by Magpies boss Alan Pardew, with his sights set on earning a recall to the France national side in time for Euro 2012.

"I was disappointed not to be called into the French team for the friendly with Germany," he said.

"I miss Les Bleus but I think it is fair because I haven't played a lot at Newcastle.

"I will keep faith for the Euros. It doesn't appear to be impossible for me. I just need to step things up a bit with Newcastle before the end of the season."

If Laurent Blanc comes over to have a look at HBA I'm sure he'll include him in his team.

Good to hear him in upbeat mood and showing a bit of maturity many think he lacked

I like Ben Arfa, he is everything football should be about on his day. Sunday he had a great game, was a bit less greedy than he often can be and put in some good moves as a result. I think the pre-season injury really hurt his chances this season, as he then had to try and force his way into a team that was playing well without him. He needs football to get sharper, but he needed to be sharper to get football.

If we get Europe next season, even if its the Europa League I think it will be fantastic for players like Benny. If fit he'll definitely get games and be able to prove himself.

Blanc pays attention to us because of Cabaye, if Benny plays it won't be long before he's recalled
