George McCartney's West Ham tightened their grip on the Npower Championship promotion race with a 2-0 win at Cardiff over the weekend.

McCartney played the full 90 minutes and scored his first goal since November 2007 as the Hammers remained just a point behind league leaders Southampton.

Kevin Nolan opened the scoring with a low shot just before the break, with McCartney sealing the points when he blasted home from close range 13 minutes from time.

In League One, Trevor Carson (pictured) and Bury found themselves 3-0 down inside half an hour at home to Huddersfield thanks to a goal from Sean Morrison and a brace from Jordan Rhodes.

But the on-loan keeper saw his side pull a goal back thanks to Steven Schumacher shortly afterwards before launching an audacious second-half comeback.

Lenell John-Lewis gave the Shakers real hope with a strike 20 minutes time before Ashley Eastham netted a dramatic equaliser in stoppage time.

Defender Louis Laing endured a tough afternoon as Wycombe went down 4-1 at Scunthorpe.

The Iron scored all their goals inside an hour, with Paul Reid, Andy Barcham (2) and Jon Parkin finding the net.

Matt McClure headed in a late consolation for the Chairboys, who slipped to the bottom of the League One table.

Jordan Cook made an appearance as a 67th-minute substitute for Carlisle in the Cumbrians' 2-0 defeat at Notts County, who got goals from Alan Sheehan and Jonathan Forte.

In League Two, Billy Knott played 62 minutes of AFC Wimbledon's 2-1 defeat at struggling Hereford, while Blair Adams' Northampton let a two-goal lead slip at Cheltenham to draw 2-2.

There was an identical scoreline at the Crown Ground, where Michael Liddle played the full 90 minutes for Accrington in their draw with Port Vale.

And goalkeeper Jordan Pickford featured in Darlington's 1-0 defeat to Stockport in the Conference Premier.

If thats from the SAFC website there a bit rubbish with regards to letting us know how our loan players are doing.

I would personally take more interest how Riveros and Gyan are getting on at there clubs rather than some youth team player at Darlo
