This is a quote from our manager, Komedy Kenny, in the last couple of weeks. I have seen more than half our games since KK took over, and I have to say he is nowhere near good enough to keep us in this league. I have seen his team play well in 1.5 games against Rangers, and 0.5 games against Celtic. When he first took over, at the split, I rationalised that the teams poor performance was because they had achieved their objective of reaching the top 6, (but was concerned about his motivational skills). His record this season is abysmal. I concede that he has kept a high media profile for our club, but, in my opinion, it is mainly due to aspergers syndrome. If not, it is unfounded arrogance. The only teams in our league that don't play better football than us are Aberdeen and Dunfermline, and Dunfermline is debatable. Kenny is not the man for our club and he has not improved our team. His ideas are good but the players must have the ability to play his system. Get him out before he gats us out this league

Firepit - think you are being a bit harsh, although I think the man is slightly deluded with some of his comments]

Yes, we do play good football, but it is 60 yards from the opposition's goal.
We are sh1te at defending all over the park.
Our midfield is too slow at supporting our front man/men?
Any team who is well organised and plays it tight will cause us problems - think of East Fife and Ayr - Kenny doesn't know how to deal with this as it happens too often
Our finishing is poor - we need too many chances to get a goal

All the above are happening far too often so IMO that means we are not a good team - we have potential to be one but are not there at this time
If we were any good we would easliy have another 12-16 points and would be chasing the tax dodgers for a Champions League place:1980_boogie_down:

I like Shiels's ideas but at this time he doesn't have the players to play how he wants. He will probably work on this during the summer.
He is also reluctant to drop certain players when they need to be dropped - Sissoko after virtually every game this season, Ben Gordon who is no better than McKeown and McKeown is a better defender. Liam Kelly has also suffered by not being played in his favoured position. Likewise last week we missed Fowler in the middle of the park yet he waited until after we were 3-0 down before he made the change in the central midfield.

I would say the jury is still out on him and he needs time to develop the club and the team in the manner he wants to.

In response to Tina the Tim I suspect we will not win the final and the thought of having to walk among the manky scum:grin: that follow them does not appeal to me - neither does listening to their pro republican songbook, however I believe we have more chance of beating her lot than we would have against other teams as Septic and the tax dodgers actually allow you more space to play against them than the likes of Motherwell and Dundee United, so there is still hope.

Cant agree with your synopsis FP.At least KS attempts to play football unlike JJ BB JC etc their MO is to keep a team in the SPL at all costs no matter the style.
I do believe however that KS is too rigid in his approach and cant change tactics midgame if needed. That being said our restricted squad, mostly chosen by KS now,are set up to play "his" style which as we all know can be shut down fairly easily by visiting teams. His adherence to the 4-5-1 ALL the time gives the opposition time to pick off our through balls and put pressure on the ball in their half. And it looks like we practice only playing against his 1 man striker as we sh*t it when the opposition run at us will pace & numbers

He needs a 2nd string to his bow or next year will be a struggle thats why the big Belgian could be a good signing IMO

FP, I too think you are a wee bit harsh and agree with BonBon that trying to play a bit of football is better than the rubbish we had to watch pre-Mixu. I love the nickname, Komedy Kenny, though, as he does talk a lot of p1sh at times. The main problem IMO, as I've said many times, is that we have no plan B, which highlights his lack of experience. In addition, his total reluctance to adapt to the conditions and go long occassionaly is killing us.

K61, I agree with much of what you say and in particular the case of Ben Gordon. Personally, I couldn't understand why we took him back. Yes, he was great first time around and he is (or at least was) quality, but he will never be a long term Killie player, whereas young McKeown could be.

Tina - we've been pumped in more league cup finals than you've got teeth. So nothing new there.

    Fellow Killie fans

I can see that you want to agree with me but dareney speak the words out loud. The last 2 games have been as close to the JJ days as I've seen in the last 12 months. The team look as if they don't know what the plan is. Thank goodness we have Dunfermline, but who will bail us out next season?

I think in order to play "expansive" football we first need to be playing a bowling green pitch, not the ****heap the park turns into far to easily these days. He needs to mix up the formation / tactics / players more often. Heffernan has not been the same since not had any company, teams close us down up the park or play wide around us as we can be far too narrow. I believe that Sissoko would have had very little playing time bar for Pascas injury as Nelson looked really solida beside Pasca (albiet that was against the ayrshire defence unit). Did Ben Gordon not used to be able to run past players? I think his time at whoever it was at the bottom of whatever league it was has made him scared to try taking players on. I reckon Dean Shiels deserve to sit out a match or two for that awul penalty and making the most of that "challenge".

For all the guff he talks I think he is the right man for us at the moment, as long as he himself tries to grow tactically etc next season he will will have to proove his worth or bye bye.

As for the 18th we can only do well against teams who focus on their own game (which septic will do) so am more hopefull than if it was against Falkirk! Just gutted that big bruiser at the backs out for the rest of the season for them.

As for next season - I reckon Rangers Academicals or whatever will be down there, only worry is if Sky refuse to let them get relegated!

Firepit - I still think you are being harsh, although I did say during the game on Saturday that in recent weeks what we have been watching is as bad as it was during Captain Calamity's tenure. I do think that Shiels at least tries to get his team playing football on the ground as opposed to the route one garbage CC and Deadwood played.

I would say thanks for a good period around October to December when we picked up enough points to stay clear of Dunfermline.
