Just listening to it now...They are going on about RVP,saying that he will win prem player of season, ffs strikers always get awards...yes,he has been immense, but come on there are other players out there aswell.
Very honest player. Realises he may have missed the boat, a few years back, because he didn't quite have his head screwed on correctly. He was a player who just needed taking in hand and showing the way. Thankfully [and you could hear he was grateful of the chance], first Bristol Rovers gave him the chance to shine, and then Saints noticed him, and gave him the chance of making the big time. If/when Rickie makes the PL, it will be wonderful story with a happy ending. Of course, then he can write the sequel..!
Talked about similarities between holt and lambo. Rickies best chance of prem is with saints. He loves the strength of our squad and bench. He has also loved every second at saints. Tricky bit when Steve c said Rickie should appreciate that he got a second chance in footy which many don't get. Rickie agreed and had no beef with those comments. Finished stating what an inspiration Rickie is.
See, I hate the comparison of Holt placed on Lambert purely because they're both big and strong. Lambert is such a cultured player with immense technique, control, vision and presence, alongside his obvious goalscoring ability. They're probably markedly different players.
yeah, can't help but feel Rickie can do the hold up, lay-offs and finishing that Holt does but has the extra side to his game when he drops back
Lambert is immense for all his skill and football intelligence what really strikes me about him is his superb temperament the way he handles the physical stuff and the ice cold approach to taking pens against Cardiff and Brighton he was made to wait in the light of some blatant gamesmanship before dispatching both spot kicks in the usual way his approach to his trade shames many players who are at the top level
