Te be fair that was a terrible terrible performance and I still don't really know what went wrong!

In a strange way though, it seems to have been the spark that has put us on our recent good run.

I have gotta go and do some work now.

Again, sorry if this thread was ill judged - I'd had a few beers and I was in the mood for a bit of heated debate after our win!

Don't you just wish those BBC highlights were still available..? I really don't quite understand the Beeb. They leave the video within the article after 7 days are up, even though it is no longer accessible. It's just tantalising us and bloody annoying.

Total respect for this comment. I don't think any of us would mind WHU finishing top. You have a premiership squad, money to spend, decent manager and a great fan base.

Of course you want to have a dig at your closest promotion rivals but do it constructively or make it witty to promote some banter. Your good but your not Barcelona and we have spent the vast majority of this season in first place, so your initial points were without foundation and just came across as arrogant. As I said, fair play to you for the apology. I appreciate that emotions run high with each and every game that passes.

I would say good luck for the run in, but you won't need it. Don't mess it up and you might even get Tevez and Torres next year! :)

I ****ing would! Complete lack of ambition and passion, you do not speak for the vast majority of Saints fans!

I don't want WH to finish top because I feel we have performed at a higher standard, in fact we have played out of our skins to be where we are after L1 promotion. We deserve the title, whether we will get it is down to us, WH and Reading

    Chill yer boots lad !
I should have wrote if that's the way it turns out and we finish in second place to a team that have premiership class players and spent as much as they have to go back up. I was just offering an olive branch to the poster.

I want to win the league as much as you do compadre but I'm not going to cry myself to sleep if we get promoted all the same. As for lack of ambition and passion, I've shown enough of that in previous posts to show I give a crap about Saints.... I'm posting on a forum about Saints when I could be washing my hair or watching repeats of strictly come dancing on ice with a glass of Chardonnay.

The team that finishes top will have deserved to win it, regardless of what style they play because the top team would have played the style that had won the league, easy really aint it.

    hoofball

A particularly unattractive form of football practiced by West Ham United FC. It involves the hoof, a long punt up the pitch by either the goalkeeper or defenders, making sure that the ball travels at least 40 yards in the air. Typically West Ham employ the hoof around 50-60 times per game. Spectators watching hoofball on a regular basis suffer from a variety of complaints; depression and neck ache from staring at the sky for 90 minutes are the two most common.

Alternative meaning: A clever, effective, exciting use of a long punt up the pitch under instruction from manager (as practiced by Southampton FC).

100% of teams in the championship play 'Hoofball'.
