In fairness im not really sure Gaddafi and Mussolini are comparable at the same level, also id be pretty sure their intervention in Libya was not motivated out of any compassion for the Libyan people and wanting to relieve them of this terrible leader who subsidised each family by thousands per child, subsidised a car per family, kept fuel prices below 6 pence a litre etc etc.... Im pretty sure it was more to do with them not wanting Libya to press ahead and break the golden rule of oil trading, it has to be traded in dollars. Saddam tried this and look where he ended up, Iran is trying...... you see where I am going with this. A nice little perk as well was the removal of a long term political thorn in the side of America and its band of peeons, one by one as "rogue" states are removed, puppet governments are installed making it much easier for America to impose it's politial will on world politics. In fairness, while by no means saints themselves, the longer states like China, Russia, Venezuela, Iran etc.. continue to oppose the quasi-imperialistic behaviour of America good for them.

Mussolini was a fanatical imperialist who led his country into a hugely damaging war while following an even more fanatical imperialist. Gaddafi never really displayed these fanatical tendencies. How is it meaningless? Its a very recent event, and one I would be very surprised to learn was isolated. Dev seems determined to excuse American/Israeli behaviour in hte region, justifying it by actions rumoured to have been carried out by other "despots", but when I show evidence to incriminate America et al in engaging in the same brutal behaviour its somehow meaningless point scoring?
