    Hopefully..........

Sunderland are reportedly putting plans into place that will allow Asamoah Gyan to leave the club permanently.

The Ghana striker is currently in the middle of a loan spell with UAE side Al Ain.

The 26-year-old is believed to be on a lucrative contract in the Middle East and as a result has no interest in returning to Wearside, according to The People.

Sunderland are happy to allow the centre-forward to depart the club on a permanent basis, but only if they receive a fee in the region of £26m.

    ................................................

Sunderland have received a bid from a Qatari club for striker Asamoah Gyan.

Press Association Sport understands a club in the Gulf state have tabled an offer for the 26-year-old Ghana international, who is currently on a season-long loan deal in the United Arab Emirates with Al-Ain.

Gyan will have two years of the contract he signed when he joined the Black Cats from Rennes during the summer of 2010 remaining at the end the current season, and his future could have a major bearing on manager Martin O'Neill's transfer plans.

The club's identity has not been disclosed.

    .............................................
Sky Tyne and Wear sources understand that Sunderland have received an undisclosed bid from a top Qatari club for striker Asamoah Gyan.

Gyan is currently on loan at Al-Ain until the end of the season.

Sorry to put a spoiler on this, but I read it was $26m. Dollars not pounds. Still $26m is a lot of money.

It's not even the club he's at that has made the bid so surely we should wait to see if a bigger offer comes?

Blimey given his recent form in ACON, and the fact that he's supposed to have piled the beef on and seems unable to get properly fit, I thought we'd be lucky to get our money back.
