First half they were slightly better and just about desrrved to go in ahead. Didn't create much but they got it down a bit whereas we just went long. Even before the sending off 2nd half we were in full control. We got dragged into a dogfight first half. But once Benni came on and we started to play, it was obvious we had the players to take control. The sending off then allowed us to camp in and we should really have made it count. The table doesn't lie, we have the better team, we just got dragged into a game that suited Sunderland first half.

Hilarious that Shola did them again.

Sorry to have Dragged you into this game but in the league you have to sometimes play against superior teams, last week draw at home against Wolves ( Who were beaten 5-0 this week ) now another draw at home against ten men not my idea of players taking control

Get over yourselves you had a good 35 minutes of frustrating us with aggressive defending. How many points are you off relegation?

I'll give you that, they were two home games against teams we really should be beating. But we're not in great form at present mainly due to our underperforming ball player in the middle of the park. Still sign of a decent side that even when you're not at your best you still pick up points, and probably deserved more. We bottled the first half Sunderland style, just getting involved in petty kicking match. The 2nd half showed what we should have been doing.

Have you even watched the replays of the incident????

Does his face wobble from a passing drafy <doh>

Even Dixon and shearer laughed and made noises to emphasis the way tiote's face wobbled!!!!

He made a meal of it, but no doubt he got hit in the face.

It was a game of 2 halves as they say, first went to you's even but you hardly trouble Krul. Other than the pen and Bendtners shot from the edge of the box there was nothing much else to shout about.
and half he had a double save to make and that was it.

Second half was all NUFC, it was like the Alamo we just couldn't get the ball in the net (credit to sunderland for their defending) Plenty of shouts for a pen (Taylor taking the ball off Ba's head).

Tiote niggled your players all game, don't think he did any nasty just strong niggly challenges which your players couldn't cope with (Sess and Clatter Em All)

Genuine question to all the Mackems.

Are you pleased with Cattermole? who after all is your captain. If you see TV pictures after he does Tiote he nods to Bardsley as if to say i have made my mark. Than to get sent off after the final whistle is moronic.
I thought it was a great match, Sunderland did not want to suffer another hammering so closed Newcastle down as soon as thet got the ball, when Seggesnon got sent off, Newcastle used the extra space. With regards to the ref, i thought he did a lot better than a lot of the players. Roll on next season when i am sure Sunderland will be stronger, but if Newcastle get Europen football better players will come to SJP.

The ref could not have seen Sess hit him, it is the usual' shout if any player gets touched' ploy what bought the ref.

<laugh> If the ref can't see something happening directly in front of him, then he should really quit. In this instance though he did and made the correct call.
Sessengnon just has a bit of ***** in him that's all.

Surely the 11 v 11 thing is irrelevant as the player blatantly broke the rules and was correctly sent off. Part of the game is to stick to the rules and stay on the pitch so 5under1and have no-one to blame but themselves for that. Cattermole should have already been sent off in the first minute too and its doubtfull they would have contained Newcastle so much in the first half without him.
Now both players with thier stupidity may have cost 5under1and a place in the F.A.Cup and a few valuable league points as they wont be the same team without those two.
