Marv may be a good outside bet for Team GB. But with Deeney just starting to find his scoring boots, I think it could be a close race between him and Marv for the Golden Boys' Golden Boot (Double GB, if you will).

I've put the other obvious contenders up for completeness, but in my opinion it's between those two.

Got to be Troy Boy for me...put him together with Del Boy and I think we will have a very dangerous pairing

I suspect it will be TD. He is only 4 behind Marvin as it stands now and, after this week, we have a run of 4 games which are all eminently winnable - it wouldn't surprise me if he scores in each of them.

His nearest competitor - Forsyth - isn't getting much game time now, so I can't see him being caught. And it would be so embarrasing to have a top scorer who left the club 4 months previously after only scoring 10 goals. :emoticon-0111-blush

I have a feeling that it will be Deeney, simply because he is the only one who seems to have a clue how to put the ball in the net regularly. However, if Eustace performs like he was a few weeks ago he could get a few more.

It just has to be TD, otherwise like BB says it will be embarassing and very sad! IMHO:steam::emoticon-0106-cryin

To be top scorer outright Deeney needs five goals in twelve games. Big ask.

I agree that could be the case, but what if Deeney got 9, Trotta got 5/6 before going back, Garner gets 7, Alex gets 5/6, Eustace ends up with 4, Nos gets 3, Mapps gets 2 and Forsyth ends up with 5. Thats not a bad range, and we have not had to rely on one person. If we rely on Deeney to get all our goals then we wont do well at all.

I do recognise that this is unlikely though.

I agree Dan, the goals have to be shared throughout the squad but TD has to be top dog;)

i'd like to think it'll be Deeney, but it's going to be a close run thing...goals, when we score them, come from everywhere..we don't have anyone who is our goal scorer (god help us if we get a penalty! lol)..i'm going with TD, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was Marv, hugely disappointing as that would be...

I said it would be a big ask for Troy to finish as the outright top scorer, and I stand by that statement. The boy did it though.

9 goals in the 17 games since Sordell left is a scoring rate that Marv or even Danny would have been happy with. <applause>
