Mag in peace here ( I understand this won't go down well with everyone but I'm sure some of you will be mature enough to handle it! So after watching the game today, which on balance I think most of you will agree, was fought bravely by two relatively equal sides and perhaps was turned by the sending off, I have been deep in thought about our two clubs and who is better in the long term and in the short term. I posed myself the following questions. 1.) Who is better as of this season? 2.) Who has the richer recent history? 3.) Who has the richer long term history? 4.) Which club has the bigger fan base? 5.) Who has the better manager? 6.) Who is the bigger club? 7.) Which is the nicer city? (This clearly has nothing to do with football!) I realise that, like with every forum, there will be some of you unwilling to deal with this but I thought about asking yourselves what in your opinion, are the answers to the above questions. try hard not to be one sided, which I know on the eve of yet another painful derby day is difficult, and see what you find out.
1.) Who is better as of this season? Manchester City 2.) Who has the richer recent history? Manchester United 3.) Who has the richer long term history? Liverpool 4.) Which club has the bigger fan base? Barcelona 5.) Who has the better manager? Real Madrid 6.) Who is the bigger club? Barcelona 7.) Which is the nicer city? (This clearly has nothing to do with football!) Definitely Barcelona
I think Mon is the better manager, Newcastle is the nicer city and both clubs are heading in the right direction.
Oops! My fault! Briefly forgot who I was dealing with here! However 10/10 for effort. Did a good job there!
finally someone willing to work with me here. Completely agree. The main reason why I worried about today from a Newcastle perspective was MON. I knew he'd win the tactical battle and he did.
1.) Who is better as of this season? NUFC 2.) Who has the richer recent history? NUFC 3.) Who has the richer long term history? Draw 4.) Which club has the bigger fan base? NUFC 5.) Who has the better manager? SAFC 6.) Who is the bigger club? NUFC (i'm biased on that one) 7.) Which is the nicer city? Newcastle
Serious thread......jesus.....ive walked into ****ing glee like teenage spot covered, **** land, nice debate kids.....now come on brush teeth and bed!
It does amuse me when fans claims their club is in a better city but dont actually live there themselves!
1.) Who is better as of this season? - Newcastle 2.) Who has the richer recent history? - Depends on your definition of 'recent'. Sunderland have been doing better these past few years, but if you're talking about the last decade, then CL football gives us the edge 3.) Who has the richer long term history? - See above, although if you're talking about the last century, I'd say both teams are fairly equal with a large periods of success at times 4.) Which club has the bigger fan base? - Newcastle. CL football and title contention gave us a worldwide fanbase Sunderland don't have 5.) Who has the better manager? - Tricky. Really tricky. MoN is a class manager but you can't argue with what Pardew has done, although I think our starting XI is good enough to be up fighting around the spots were at now, so whilst Pardew has done great, I wouldn't class him as a miracle worker which has got the team achieving far beyond what it should. 6.) Who is the bigger club? - Gotta say Newcastle. Bigger fanbase, bigger stadium, bigger attendances, bigger revenues and so on 7.) Which is the nicer city? (This clearly has nothing to do with football!) - Newcastle. This is totally unrelated to football, but I really don't like Sunderland as a city. I'm not sure if I was just in the wrong place or something but there wasn't anything there.
