Tbf,Obertan is just another Jonas, running a lot with little end product, i would rather bring Ben Arfa, at least him alone,he can create that chance which can bring us back in the game.

More dross. Cabaye has gone missing again and if Tiote insists on playing like this he can happily go in the Summer. He's had an awful season. The strikers frustrated again. And if Jonas can't even win free kicks, then really what good is he? Dean just isn't buying his usual routine today.

Say what you will, at times like this I really wish we had Nolan and Barton playing. They knew how to play these derbies, rattling your opponent but - and this is crucial - without losing their heads. Cattermole is a lot more clever than people give him credit for. I wouldn't be surprised if O'Neill told him to put in an early challenge and get our team rattled.

I'd bite your hand off for a draw now.

Sunderland have outplayed us. It was a definate penalty. Fair play to them they've done well and now they can sit back, crowd players behind the ball and look to sting on the counter with pace which is O'Neill's style down to a T. Think a couple of decsions have gone against us but nothing that would have changed the game (ie I don't think Ba's was a penalty). Only gripe so far is that there have been too many yellows for a Derby the worst one being Cabaye's after Bardsley's dive and scream(wouldn't have expected that from an Englishman...then again steven gerrard i guess!). Also williamson's seemed a soft yellow, the pen was punishment enough.

Get your specs off man. He got the ball and missed Simpsoncompletely! Tiote has been dirty with a terrible challenge on Cattermole and hasn't even been booked!

must say without bias I think we deserve it ! We are (after the hysterical first 15mins) the team playing football and deserve this delicate lead.
BUT BUT BUT a long way to go yet. they must try and change their shape and MON will have to adjust accordingly, However a quick counter from Sess and McC could kill the game P L E A S E !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and if we're not going to play any width we might as well get HBA on for Raylor and put him behind the front two and play one winger. Fair play to the lad that said I can see them bringing on Ba and Cisse. Pretty funny for a Mackem.

I saw the replay, Ba is shielding the ball, the other guy comes from behind, isn't near the ball, shoves the striker over... penalty in the book. Anyway...not gonna happen. The ref's got his mind made up, I still think we have enough to get a draw out of this. I have no quabbles with your penalty, Willo just messed up, however, the ball wasn't anywhere near them, those things should be a yellow and indirect free kick or something. Not a penalty. They should be whistled though.

We need some pace on the wings, bring Ben Arfa on (should of started)
We have nobody with enough pace to create chances/crosses!

Dunno what Pardew is thinking with this formation, too defensive again,

    You deserve to be winning.

Shirt pulling is a foul anywhere.

O'Shea on Ba would have been a foul anywhere else.

    Neither were penalties.

We need to stop the daft fouls, calm down and start playing football because we have been god awful in the first half.
