Please forgive the vileness of this post its being written while having the mother of all Ear infections!!

So Dull Dave whelen goes on air(he really does love the sound of his own voice doesnt he!) to say thats the worst the team have played for 4-5 yrs (every team gets their worst game for years playing us dont they?)and he needs to meet Martinez to ask him why he left 3 good players on the bench etc, etc.

You picked him Dave!! he was the best thing since sliced bread wasnt he?? <laugh>
was going to manage one of the top clubs in Europe one day wasnt he??

What a bitter and twisted old man he is and has more sides than a fifty pence peice, at a time when he should be supporting his"wonderful" manager he promptly sticks the boot on his head!! surely the time for the united front is now for Wigan?? dodgy dave has just split that club loyalty right down the middle, what a plank!!

As for Bobby brown shoes, he deserves all he gets, did well for us then stabbed us in the back and went to play with dave at "his one true love" we are all over him now anyway but the devil inside does find some comedy to be had out bobby and daves misfortunes!!

I will never forget how condecending DW was to our chairman and club, calling him naive of all things while trying to rape us the same time for everything we had, i will never forget how he publically admitted he tapped up our manager and arogantly thought it was fine to say so.

Most of all i will never forget watching our team play them off the park (until gomez conned the ref) for 60mins on their patch playing a style of football that dave whelen dreams about when he goes to bed at night<laugh>

This is not about Roberto Martinez, his lack of respect for SCFC was exposed a long time ago, the guy that wipped up the storm and came across as the real big time charlie just got one in the eye yesterday! any sign of a "well played swansea" ? no, the best he could do was to turn on the guy he put total faith in, tell the media thats the worst they played for five years etc.

Thats called being a bad loser Dave, lack of respect for SCFC has cost many people many things, i hope it costs you premier league status, just when bobby needed you most you stabbed him in the back...oh the Irony <laugh>

cracker- Im not sure he would be good enough for us anymore, without sousa making us robust we would have been doomed to faliure with such soft defending, it took only half a season for most teams to work that out, and bobby had no answers for it im afraid to say!!

A similar thing is happening at wigan, there is no fix of the problems just a meandering of team and tactics until they fall through the plug hole, he has proved to me that he has yet to learn the ugly side of the game, swansea has created a hot seat where every up and coming, imtelligent football manager would want to have a crack, think we have left Martinez trailing in our wake TBH <ok>

Sorry norway , I guess our definition of robust differs a bit , robust teams score more that 40 goals for one thing . One doesn't have to look past the players brought in & money spent by our past three managers to see who the weakest link was . On top of that , benching Britton & sending Dobbie out on loan while we were still in the Championship was just plain stupidity ( look what Buck did with Dobbie our last season in the Championship ) after " Sousa " moved on to bigger & bitter ... I mean better things .

Most of your post I find hard to disagree with, NJ. I did try. <laugh>

I hated the way we played under Sousa but he did bring some steel into our defence that was sadly missing under Martinez, who still can't get that right at Wigan.

On the subject of Whelan, the bloke's an idiot with money. He openly admitted tapping up Martinez as though he'd done nothing wrong. The gutless FA did nothing about it so that reinforced Whelan's view it was all OK. It wasn't.

To openly criticise your manager publicly is the beginning of the end of this wonderful marriage imo. Martinez deserves criticism, but behind closed doors. Whelan, for all his money doesn't have a clue about how to handle people or the rules - a lot of them unwritten - on how owners should behave.

As for Wigan going down, well it's long overdue. Said it a million times on here, karma has a way of making things work out in the end.

    Agree Cracker,up to a point.

but then explain why he finished higher than Roberto martinez ??

Also remember he was denied the chance to sign a top striker, which ever way you slice it there are good and bad points about all managers, sousa gets most stick even though he had the most difficult job, remember his remit from Jenkins was "keep us up" he did better than that.

The fact remains he finished higher in the league than bobby without our 2 top goal scorers(gomez and scotland) the rest is just opinions<ok>

Norway - very nice article, my sentiments exactly. How nice it is to close the loop and show the big wannabes that clearly aren't how to really play like they wish they could. And that the puzzle is bigger than just Martinez. It took a journey of which Martinez was just a part, a significant part at the right place and right time, but just a part nonetheless, to get us where we are today. Flynn was a part, as was Jacket. Sousa made a significant contribution dealing with the huge goal difference deficit and zero defense / no plan B left by Martinez. Rogers has added his own values, vision and player acquisitions to take us further and build-out the platform for the next drive forward.

Martinez took zero defense and no plan B to Wigan and that's what they put on the field very week. It's a patsy play at the Prem level and this season everybody has it sussed out. Dumb Dave just doesn't realize that Martinez is a step in a journey and not the destination. He thought he was acquiring the complete journey. I think his next move should be to hire Sousa .... That's if he wants to avoid a straight drop through to League 1.

    KJ- Thanks fella.
Agree 100% Wigan offer nothing to the prem and havent for many years now, it couldnt happen to a nicer guy than dodgy dave, love the way that everybody that has left has more or less gone on to worse things, that may sound bitter,it isnt its very sweet actually <laugh>

Yankee- The Swans model is 3 managers in 3 yrs isnt it!! each adding their own flavour of spice to the cooking pot.

I thin your spot on, its not just one thing like some people think, its an accumilation of alot of small things and an ethos that cant be bought and replicated over night ala Wigan and RM

NJ: I see it kind of differently though. I think that for the first few seasons in the Prem a team's expectations should be to avoid relegation. Nothing wrong with that while you build. If you're an established Prem team that's been there a while then if you can't bring something to the League and all you're doing is aiming for 17th at the start of the season then it's time for the drop.

Wigan have been doing that for years. But truth be told I actually wish it was Stoke instead of them. I really can't stand the way they play.

I think stoke are most peoples favourite team for the drop, im just glad i dont have to pay to watch crap like that every week, i also think that 99% of swans fans would flatly refuse to put up with that kind of football even if it garenteed a certain amount of success. Kenny jacket found that out after trying to change the way we played, even with great success he wasnt really liked for his style of play, brought great professional standards to the club though.
