Evening All, 1st daily thread ive put up for a while.

Just the one wager for me tomorrow atm.

    2.40 Huntingdon

    Watergate

A fairly short favourite tomorrow, but should take all the beating, He was 2m winner at Folkestone in January and is holding his form well at present and showed this longer trip holds no fears with a creditable Lingfield second when last sighted. Hes going off the same mark today so compensation could be in the offing for Richard Rowe's representative

I see they have been watering at Cheltenham, I do hope they are not getting the rain that we are in Wiltshire. Roads outside choking with precipitation!

The opening novice hurdle at Huntingdon looks quite interesting with several good-looking hurdling debutants taking on some decent yardsticks with hurdling experience. Likely favourite will be AP's mount Vimiero after an excellent 2nd place behind Ile De Re last time out, but I'm not sure the Williams horse was at his best that day and Vimiero may have been flattered by his proximity to the winner. The better form for me was shown by Sonoran Sands who chased home easy winner Swing Bill at Ludlow. With young Brendan Powell again claiming 5 I think he will be in the mix. Guess Again's form does not look as good as these two. Moving to the newcomers, Brick Red at 4/1 is the shortest at the moment. Venetia Williams' Dubawi gelding was top rated 93 on the flat but never ran beyond 9F and for me he doesn't look like an automatic natural for a 2 mile novice hurdle. The same comment applies to John Ferguson's Kadoodd who managed a 2nd place over 12F but never went further. The one who takes my eye at a nice price is Jim Best's Bollin Judith. The Bollin Eric mare has had a much more thorough grounding on the flat, with 6 victories from 30 runs including a couple of wins at 14F and 16F. Jim Best has traditionally done well with this type of horse and at the early 16/1 she looks the value call in the race.

Welcome back Ron! An open question to all here:

I'm about to wrap the Under The Spotlight series up with an 8th and final episode.

After this, I was mulling the idea of producing 606's very own "Cheltenham preview evening". I would need volunteers willing to take a bit of time to message me their fancies for each race (not necessarily all, but I would want all Championship races and then a handful of handicaps/non championship selections). I'll then try to edit it into a 606 representation of our Cheltenham thoughts with a week to go before the Festival kicks off, the reason being it would be nice for any new members (we will get an increase on traffic over the next 10 days!) to see the different angles and takes on each of the races.

It would then be a lovely way to look back on the festival when the dust settles.

So I was hoping for perhaps 7 or 8 of you regular posters to get involved with myself and we'll just have it as a Sticky thread for reference only (no discussion until after the festival). I thought it would be a great way to wrap up the festival build up- after all you have all been contributing to my spotlight series and indeed antepost discussions for almost 6 months now, for which I am very grateful.

If you think I'm talking a load of old b******s then just say.

If you can see what I'm getting at and you think it sounds cool, then get on to me ASAP.

Quite like the look of Sue Smith's runner Brother Scott in the bumper - not disgraced behind Swinging Sultan on his latest run and that one went on to chasehom New Years Eve at Market Rasen. 15/2 at the moment and if it stays at 8 runners it looks a nice e/w bet. The front 2 in the betting look very short to me (McCain's has a penalty, Swinbank's on debut but is nicely bred).

WHatever you do, don't get tempted to back that old dog Kinkeel <laugh>

    Have a great day <ok>

Fell out when he fell off a few, took up the role at Venetia's which basically means that he can't be relied on to ride for Nicholls, as such he is below Fehily (now Lavelle stable jock) Jacobs and Walsh to name three pro's and then the amateurs/conditionals Nicholls has too.

3:00 Leop - The Way We Were
    3:10 Hunt - Cold Night
    3:30 Leop - Donnas Palm
4:10 Hunt - Be All Man

    Good Luck All <ok>

My Rugby League advice: Take Wakefield +16, Catalans +10, St Helens -2, Hull KR -22
Although the bookies do seem to have it about right so keep stakes to a minimum here.
