    Evening all

NO LOOSE CHANGE 3.30 Newbury is well handicapped off a mark of 116 in my opinion and can hopefully win on his debut over the larger obstables wearing the first time tongue tie. Good luck all.

    Evening scrotbag!

I'll go for Railway Dillon in the same race, how do you like that :emoticon-0173-middl

Nicky The Needle will obviously win the first, this horse has been mentioned at a few Festival preview nights as a dark horse for the Triumph

Just flicking through the cards and i see that Ron is out for a run in the bumper at Doncaster...

Would be nice if we do indeed see Ron back to see his namesake win...<ok>

    Hello lads.

Was just out having a sneaky Marlboro Red and looking at the moon...imagine telling someone 150 years ago there would be someone walking on that...my ancestors had no concept of heriditary betting debts..selfish bast***s.

Anyhow, nowt for me today as yet...I'm off to watch my boys in the Basque Derby at the weekend.

Like a lot, can't get the festival out of my head...really hope the old warrior makes the Gold Cup and PC runs in the Arkle...those events wouls be so much less minus the pair.

Good to see the Fluber fella is back...polite as ever..<laugh>

The 3.30 at Newbury seems a popular race so I'll go for Romulus D'Artaix <ok>

    Nass - If your about...

That 'source' that gave you the info on MaCain and the blinkers and always winning, or having a great record may have come from a runner today...

Railway Dillion @ Newbury in the 3.30...
Fitted with blinkers for the last 2 runs and suprise, suprise has won both...!!!

Has a good chance again today but it looks a tougher race to win... Also i see Oddy has already put his name to Romulas D'Artaix...

Looks a good race this one...<ok>

Yes, it was a great race Zenyatta. For someone who is supposed to be a great hold-up jockey Carberry started his run too far out and got there too soon - but it must be hard to keep your powder dry when your horse is going so well.

I wouldn't disagree Fulkes. I'm sure many would say he held for too long and never gave the horse a chance but he got there too soon, and therefore had to check his run for fear of hitting the front too soon. Still I think any criticism is a little harsh because to deliver him with a perfect run would have been nearly impossible.

Fantastic stuff, and more of the same to look forward to in under two weeks now. <cheers>

Just had a look at the race, I don't think Carberry could have done too much more with the horse. Even after holding the horse together, he didn't give enough when asked. How would have things been any different if he'd spent what little reserves he had, a bit earlier? I think the stronger horse won.

    Probably. <laugh>

Gents - I can't get you tube from work but are you discussing Harchibald's Champion Hurdle effort ?

I still think he should have asked for an effort from the horse earlier. If the horse turns out to not find much then at least you gave it a go. Harchibald was never given a chance because the PC thought he could just cruise by Hardy Eustace in a matter of strides. Just my 2 cents <ok>

I should add, I do think the better horse won though. I just find the ride annoying.

Nowt grabs me with any great deal of enthusium today but...

    Newbury...
    2.55 - Marodina, 4/1
3.30 - Railway Dillon, 3/1 - Those blinkers have got to help out again...!!!!
    4.00 - Charm School, 11/4
    4.35 - Ballyallia man, 3/1

Nothing really outstanding but i might have a little wager with singles n doubles... Good luck to all who play today...<cheers>

Jeez all this waiting for the Cheltenham Festival is killing me...!!!!!

I think if Carberry had gone for him earlier he'd have finished 3rd. As soon as he asks for his effort he starts losing ground. Like Fulkes said he needed to arrive on the scene later and maintain that run to lead on the line. He got there travelling too well too soon and the horse found nothing when asked. However, as I said before, it's hard to criticise too much because it was a difficult ride to execute perfectly, if not impossible.

I thought Hardy's jumping throughout the race was superb. Pinged almost every hurdle from the front, and made it a real test. For what it is worth, I agree with Gorgeous George I think he should have popped Harchy the question earlier, but that said PC is adamant Harchy was giving his all!
