I've just been browsing through the ghost town that is 606 and came across an article from a forest fan, bragging after supposedly pulled the wool over OLM ' eyes regarding their playing the mull of k'intyre. I then came across a comment from LesCockersgaffer saying "Clearly too good for a 'done nowt won nowt' pub team like stinky Dull though" so I thought I'd come and explain to other fans from other teams who wont know this little fact. Hull have won 4 trophies in their history. Yes 4! So we are not a team without silver wear. Thank you very much. Just in case you didn't know we've won 3 league titles and the silly play off trophy (which counts in my book)
You guys won't remember but we won "The Giant Killers" Cup in 1966/7 season before going down to Chelsea 3-1 at Fer Ark after holding them to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Surely it's a sign of our loyalty and potential? The question should be why do they feel it matters? Would they stop following their team if they had no trinkets? Does their team having baubles make them better people? Having hit the lows, they'll never experience some of the joys we have as it's all relative.
Being a Gooner, also, I feel at home here, as we haven't won anything for a few years!! Do you think the Allams would like to do a time-share on the Gunners trophy plinth?
We also beat the reigning World Club Champions in the 1970's. Going by the deluded logic of Leeds fans who claim to be Champions Of Europe without actually having won the European Cup, then we are World champions.
We won last week thats all I care about. I enjoy supporting Hull City because I'm from Hull and my dad took me to Boothfery Park when I was a little boy. Anybody who brings up what clubs have won in the past is an idiot and leads a very sad life, they are trying to big themselves up by tying their lives to a football team when personally they have achieved nothing. I like city being succesfull but it's the matchday that counts and if you can just enjoy that you will never lose FFS.
That's not the same logic. Also, you may have won four trophies but none of them are major silverware. Not having a dig at you, it's just a fact. I respect fans who stick by their small clubs who've had very little success in their history. Very admirable, I've just been lucky to be born in a city whose club is a massive and successful one. Can't imagine life as a Hull, Scunthorpe or Grimsby fan.
just wondering if any of u peeps knows of any dvd,s of the chelsea tigers games of 66/7.i waz at the home game sat on the running track or whatever it was.
Real Madrid have won the European Cup (in all its previous guises) a record 9 times. (I think, can't be bothered to check it though) We beat them 1-0 once, does that make us the best team in Europe? On a lighter note, as a Cardiff fan, I feel your pain, only moreso, since we have come a lot closer to winning a major trophy in recent years than you have (not having a dig, just saying that losing in the final is more painful!)
