Championship title contenders Southampton are keen on bolstering their attacking options at the end of the season with a move for West Ham striker Carlton Cole. The West Ham front-man has been in exceptional form for the London club with his 9 goals firing them to the summit of the league. 28-year-old Cole has managed to strike 40 goals in 167 league appearances since joining from Chelsea in 2006. And his form has seen the Saints take an in interest in the striker as the look to reaffirm their Premier League status. Nigel Adkins' side look set to secure promotion back to England’s top flight after a superb season following promotion from League 1. And the former S****horpe United manager is hoping to use Cole as the spearhead in his attack should the achieve promotion this season.

It was the antidote to a stupid article where Sam Allardyce thought he might buy Lambert off us. Neither is going to happen, but for different reasons. 1] Lambert isn't going anywhere, and 2] We wouldn't want Cole even if he was available.
Well i thought the post was top drawer. It puts into perspective how deluded the Hammers and there supporters are.
It also shows how s*it SA is as a manager. All he's done since joining the Hammers is flood the team with players(whether he needs them or not), the law of averages says one's got to be good?. What happened to the mighty WH academy??
you can change the name and the club, but to use carlton cole and exceptional in the same sentance is just wrong. he must have one of the worst strike rate of any striker around, and adds little to a team- and he has played for england 7 times which is criminal

well, as I'm the first WHU fan to bother to post on any article involving Lambert, where do you come up with that? or is it yourself that is deluded. The thread you point out was also started by a Southampton fan. I know it may come as a big blow to your ego's, but us hammers don't really concern ourselves with your club, as you are of no real interest to us. You, on the other hand, seem top be totally obsessed with us.
Mig, maybe the WHU fans don't obsess about us, but I'll tell you what, Big Sam does. He's mentioned Southampton in every after match interview since Christmas, whether you win or lose its always about Southampton. I think he might just be feeling the pressure, I'm sure the boo's will help.
