La Liga goalscoring record.

The record for most goals by one player in a La Liga season stands at 40 (Ronaldo last season). Ronaldo currently has 29 goals in 24 La Liga appearances this season with another 14 matches to go, so can he beat his own record?

Didn't some people say that Ronaldo only outscored Messi in La Liga last season because the title was over early on and all the Real Madrid players were looking to help Ronaldo break the record? What's the excuse so far this season then?

I like the Messi vs Ronaldo scoring competition. That's basically all La Liga is (plus a load of diving and play acting).

 

I think Ronaldo is the better player... but Messi will end up smashing practically every record in Europe. Might even beat Gigg's record of scoring in 16 CL's.
