Starting to get to the point with me Odddy where I don't care about flat form anymore. Bloody waste of time trying to see how they will develop as a hurdler. I don't think he would have Primaries if he didn't think he was capable of winning a few. Don't think he bothers with those types. I agree though Kings Bayonet looks the bet

As one of your favs Grumeti has proved. Showed ability on the flat but was but was not a flashy 100+ horse.

Hope we have perfect ground for Chelts so the Irish can't complain when their horses get turned over <rofl>

Hurricane Fly now under pressure and AP hasn't moved a muscle on BINOCULARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR <run> :emoticon-0158-time:

I've got the week off work - flying into Birmingham Monday, stop at mates and going with him to Cheltenham on Tuesday. Fly home early Wednesday (unless I win a bundle Tuesday, in which case I may just say feck it and stay on) and watch the rest on the net - couldn't face sat in the office "watching" on racing post text commentary <laugh>

Slumming it with a bit of Athletico v Barcelona on sopcast .................. it's a hard life <laugh>

I bet Dex has had a dabble on this one .........

Yeah Holt is brilliant, especially if it's a horse he likes. I was watching the Reynoldstown again today and he was all over Silviniaco Conti & Bobs Worth but barely mentioned Invictus <laugh> just sort of said "oh and Invictus has won".

Be interesting to see what a pint costs is the guiness village this year - 4.10 last year <yikes>

All Barca at the moment - Messi just beat 5 men and scored but was pulled back for handball

You see the Minsk race yesterday? What did you think of Bat Masterson? Ran a cracker I thought, really ran on well after being done for toe 2 out - would have won in 50 yards further. He's entered in the Fred Winter .................

Yeah Odddy I noticed that. Cattermole is the worst for it. How obvious is it that he backed Grand Crus in the world hurdle last year.

Pints <rofl> places charge what they want these days. Was out before the Newcastle game yesterday - 1.89 for a pint of carlsberb in a bar called the percy arms

up to another bar 2.60 for a Carlsberg

Shearers Bar £3.80 for a bottle of Koppeburg

in the match £3.70 for a pint

straight after the match you can guess which bar I went back to <rofl> straight to the percy arms

Odddy that horse is improving and has a good attitude. I like him also and he is interesting for the fred wineter

That opener at Plumpton is awful...one of the worst horses in the Henderson yard, one of the worst horses in the King yard and one of the worst horses Fabre has ever trained. Venetia's ex Bolger horse might be decent if she has it fit!

NASS, how much did it cost to get in? Ans= nothing! Shut up complaining about the cost of Guiness then!!!

Robert Thornton is no hurry choose between Grumeti and Balder Succes as his JCB Triumph Hurdle mount.

Thornton, who has won the race twice for trainer Alan King with Penzance (2005) and Katchit (2007), has partnered both of this year's hopefuls to victory.

He enjoyed a success on Grumeti at Kempton on Saturday having teamed up with Balder Succes at Ascot a week earlier.

"He (Grumeti) has everything you look for in a Triumph horse, and I would not think that there is a tougher four-year-old physically anywhere in the country," the jockey told www.alankingracing.co.uk.

"He is so strong for one so young and reminds me of Penzance who won the Triumph for us a few years ago, but he is a stuffy individual and I think he could improve again on what he showed there.

"However, I am not yet going to commit myself to Grumeti as we also have Balder Succes, and a lot can happen in two and a half weeks.

"Balder Succes is the more rangy of the two, taller with less about him. His future is next season because, while he has loads of talent, he also has a lot of strengthening up to do and he can still be a bit gassy.

"Remember, Balder Succes never ran on the Flat, whereas Grumeti is street-wise from two seasons with Sir Mark Prescott - they are two lovely horses and we are lucky to have them."

King was pleased Thornton was able to ride Grumeti after missing his three other outings due to injury.

"It was good for 'Choc' (Thornton) to get a feel of Grumeti on the track, and I thought he jumped super," said King.

"I have not seen anything else that I would swap Grumeti for in the Triumph, and, with last week's Ascot winner Balder Succes also going for the race, we have two live contenders going there."

a good few, would have been a few more but the Pork carvery rolls were too good to ignore <laugh>

Very relaxed course, no bad feelings around all day and some very friendly people too.
