Is it just a load of men pumped up on steriods with a fetish for lycra or is there more to it than that?
I am sure some people find these entertaining. Although I grant you American sports stretch that theory to the limit.
I'm not a fan of WWE but people seem to like it. It's all fixed but who cares? Some of these guys are phenomenal athletes and take a hell of a pounding leading to all sorts of injuries. I watched "Beyond The Mat" a few years ago and it opened my eyes. Not my cup of tea but they deserve respect for what they are, hard working guys doing a difficult job and entertaining people who like Panto style villians and real life superheroes.
There's a neighbours board on here? There's also very little steroid abuse in wrestling these days, several wrestlers have been sacked or suspended for steroids over recent years. WWE have set up a wellness programme where they are checked for steroids. One such test actually saved Alvin Burke Jr (MVP) life when it was discovered he had a rare heart condition during testing. . . . . . . but yeah they all have a fetish for lycra.
You've got to have a certain sense of humour to like wrestling. I like it (well the old school stuff) but I can totally understand why people think it's ridiculous and pointless at the same time.
