With the Swans not having a game over the same period where Stoke have had 3, including a trip to Valencia then we are either going to win it due to a better fitness level or lose it due to a lack of match sharpness. Personally I think we may nick it 2-1. On another note it was disappointing to see Stoke go out tonight...thought they had enough chances to get something out of both legs! Hopefully they will bring those shooting boots on Sunday...saying that we are not exactly prolific in front of goal!!.....may change my guess to 0-0
A tough game. At the liberty we were able to stand off Crouch and give him space... I doubt it will be the same up there. Still fancy us for a result though.
just read pulis' comments and he thinks he did the right thing, ffs surely a euro result is better as u will not get relegated
Think swansea will pass around stoke with ease due to match fitness and think dyer will rip the defence apart Swans fans, keep hold of that dyer, hes very good!
A good number of Jacks down my local, have predicted a 2-1 win to Swansea, some a draw, with a few having us for a defeat, and while I can understand some apprehension after the Norwich game, we did miss Joe Allen something awful, so I'm upbeat with Allen back (Hopefully), though I will not be optimistic if Rodgers gives a start to our Chelsea boy Josh, he's not ready in my view, and Gower should start if Allen isn't fully fit, one positive is that we are becoming increasingly effective on our travels, so I'm going for a 2-1 win to Swansea! Up the mighty Jacks............. please log in to view this image
anyway hope its a gr8 game, hope both sets of fans have a drink together and regardless of the result, have fun (remember it's only a game)
Musty Frog IF any of the Swansea fans want a drink before the game (close to the Stadium is the Harvester) Always good banter in there.. and it's a 2 minute stoll to the Brit... HOPE you enjoy the game and IF we use both Pennant and Etherington we usually play some decent football... I didn't agree with OUR team selections for Crawley nor last nights game in Valencia.. but T.P. is the gaffer he will live or die by Sunday's result now as far as many Stoke fans are concerned. I'm sure he knows how important this game is and he was before the F.A. Cup tie v Crawley?? Having left NINE of our better player's at home last night, I'm praying that we actually go for it! I'm sure given Swansea's excellent season, so far YOU will attack us? That might help us... we've played our better games against Utd, Chelsea at home and they are always positive. Question for the Swan's fans... Hand on heart did you honestly expect to do so well this season having seen Blackpool do similar last time around. Although, I do NOT think you will do a Blackpool and go belly up for the rest of this season.. ENJOY the game.. for once I hope you go home pointless.. After which, GOOD LUCK for the remaining games.
Hand on heart mate I would have to say NO. When you play in a higher league you can't be sure how the team will perform at the higher standard and there is a big jump from Championship to Premier League and I'm sure all Swans fans would have had worries before the season started. As for now, I would be shocked if we implode from here. I genuinely believe that we are a better team than Blackpool, in fact it would be interesting to know what you Stoke fans as neutrals think too. I think by now everyone knows how we play. No were not Barcelona and no we're not the best team in the league but I have to say it's not half entertaining and what's been refreshing is the fact it's been appreciated by fans of other clubs too, yours included in that. As for Sunday, we all know how good you lot are at home and I'm expecting a very very difficult game and would happily take a point right now. The one thing above all else I'm looking forward to is the atmosphere. So far I have to say the atmos has been fcuking sh1te away from home this season. Arsenal the worst by a long shot. You lot however have a reputation to uphold, loudest fans in the league. Im sure you'll give us a song or two !!!
Thanks for the sensible input guys, I thought this thread would implode long before we do given Mighty Huth's opener to this thread lol.. He's an OK poster and don't be too hard on him... NO WAY will you implode IMO, just interested to hear your'e fans views to be honest. I am surprised but the way you play is HOW many of the Stoke fans are now expecting us to play... thing is, we've not played (a passing game) since promotion. We've done really well given some of the S*** player's we've had. Still do have IMHO. I think on their day we've got two of the best wide men in the League but Pulis too often refuses to play them both from the start, espcially at home. So by now we're used to wum's, idiots etc. End of, we have done more than enough to stay up easily so far. This season? our home form is rubbish the last month or so, the atmosphere is not there either. I always said that if you give the fans something to shout for, we are the 12th man Pulis used to call us. I think Sunday's game is massive, not so much for Swansea but Pulis personally. None of us we're too worried about going out of the Europa and it's not done us any favours this season. Unlike Swansea I think anyway? we've not put out a settled team every week, which we did the first 2 seasons and for part of last season. I think our fans will be up for the game, we always are but we seem to start games too slowly and let the other team play around us. Do that on Sunday and I honestly think you might pull off another win. We didn't close down Valencia at home first half and I rate Swansa passing wise on a par with them, from what I have seen this season. Like the way you play with two wingers also. Your'e Manager obviously knows his best team and sticks by his principles, well done for doing that and I'm sure given the money you have spent which won't be that much? compared to Stoke. It's brilliant to see a club playing well and getting the results.. Blackpool, West Brom have tried it and it didn't work because neither could defend that well. YOU have no such worries and I am actually looking forward to the game on Sunday. No doubt like many Stokie's I will be bricking it simply because we need a win. Would I take a draw beforehand? Not really, we should with respect be able to compete far better against teams in and around us.. apart from Fulham, Blackburn we have not done that simples. I hope our fans me included will get the atmosphere going from the start on Sunday, we need a result and quickly. But much will depend on the team Pulis puts out there.. I would go for.. Begovic Wilkinson Shawcross Upson (Huth is still banned) Wilson Pennant Whelan Palacios Etherington Jerome Crouch But T.P. is the gaffer, it was his choice to leave behind most on that list on Thursday, so it's anyone's guess really. It should be a smashing game but we've said that the last few games at home and not really performed well. Enjoy the game and good luck for the rest of the season (after Sunday) of course. Pott's
I'd be tempted to put Arismendi in, he looked good vs Valencia, and looks like he might have better fitness levels than Wilson P.
