Another bar steward referee. John Salako said a definite penalty turned down.

Hi , Ive not come on here to gloat, you lot were the best team at the County Ground this season, and that includes the likes of Huddersfield and Wigan. you should of won it , definate pen as well. It all turned when you took off your left back who was marking Ritchie out of the game, then we blitzed you for 20 or so minutes scoring our 2 goals, must admit your keeper looked really edgey at this stage. Yes the ref was from Wilts (Salisbury about 40 miles away) but we have had refs that live a lot closer to Swindon reffing us in past games, from Stroud and Gloucester. Anyway if you play like that for the rest of the season you will be the 2nd STFC to get promoted this season. Good luck <whistle>

Generous of you redjed. Can't help but be sore when even your player (Caddis) said it was a penalty & red card. In fact even di Canio admitted as much! Just now it feels too much like another Wigglesworth/Linington season-wrecking moment (see Wycombe last season) to let it go. The fact he's from Wiltshire is just an easily avoidable foul up by the Football League. If he's from Norfolk or Essex or Durham then it's just poor ref, bad decision. Coming from the same county, there's another unnecessary angle added to it and it makes his job even harder in the first place. I'd never want a Shropshire ref at the Meadow.

But I agree about promotion. I feel more confident now that we can make the top 3. Only 6 away games out of 15 to play, only 2 games left against other top 6 and both at home. I still think we've a decent chance of winning the league. You might even be joining the real STFC.

thank goodness we have 5 days to recharge before another big test at home to crawley, and how nice of the shots to beat sarfend 2-0 and cheltenham to freeze like rabbits in the headlights against mighty wombles who had 2 shots compared to 12 from chelt. oh dear how sad never mind. onwards shrews

I got to agree with my fello STFC fans, Shrews were a very good side and one of the best we've seen. But they were the best side for the first hour. Once Connell scored it was all Swindon. Regarding the penalty decision, at first I thought penalty but after seeing the replay I think the ref got it right, didn't look like any contact and if there was then it was outside the box. Overall we played rubbish, Shrews played well but Town took their chances.
