Some time soon our club may well receive a request for a reference for one
Mr.Paul Buckle from a prospective employer.
References follow a fairly predictable pattern, so to assist the club perhaps
you could take a moment to complete the following.
Comments would be appreciated but to save time you may use a scale of
    1 - 10, where 1 is terrible and 10 is outstanding.

    VISION:
    APPEARANCE:
    LEADERSHIP SKILLS:
    MOTIVATIONAL SKILLS:
    COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
    INTEGRITY:
    STRENGTHS:
    AREAS FOR DEVELOPMENT:

    Finally:
    Would you re-employ? YES/NO

    Thank you for your time.

    VISION: He has two eyes
APPEARANCE: Wears a reflective suit that deflects all criticism to those around him
LEADERSHIP SKILLS: He successfully lead the coaching staff to the dressing room at half time without getting lost once!
MOTIVATIONAL SKILLS: Managed to get the team to play like ****s.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Very good with words, turned even the most good natured gashead against him.
INTEGRITY: Appears to have been trained as a master Jedi
STRENGTHS: Good directional sense (see Leadership skills above)
AREAS FOR DEVELOPMENT: None he has it all

Would employ again as coach driver should the position become vacant<ok>

    VISION: 0/10.
he was able to bring in 20 plus players however in 1 of his last interviews he stated his team did not have a cb who was big enough and can do the ugly things. to bring in that many players, how did he fail to see that we were missing a tall, strong and ugly cb?

    APPEARANCE: 0/10.
    the **** kept turning up!

    LEADERSHIP SKILLS: 0/10.
falling outs with carayol, kuffour, stanley, harrold, anthony, virgo and campbell. also rumoured to have had a bust up with phil kite. not bad in just 6 months in management at the club!

    MOTIVATIONAL SKILLS: 10/10.
only if you want to be 2-0 up at half time against bottom of the football league plymouth and then some how motivate the team to go on to lose 2-3. if you want that the 10/10. if you dont want that then 0/10.

    COMMUNICATION SKILLS: 0/10.
he must of had a script for each interview as it was the same **** after each game. it was so predictable even city fans predicted his comments on a thread on otib. and no communication with the board. board said goal is promotion. after 8 games buckle said remit is 10th. then we were told to lower our expectations while already hovering in a relegation fight!

    INTEGRITY: 0/10.
he lost this when he couldnt be bothered to turn up at a post match interview. must of forgotten his script! and when he called bristolians "****s" that led to the apparent bust up with phil kite.

    STRENGTHS: 2/10.
i cant think of any other than out of over 20 players he brought into the club, there was a couple of good signings.

    AREAS FOR DEVELOPMENT: 0/10.
he thinks because he did ok at torquay that it means he will do ok everywhere else. the amount of times he stated he was headhunted and that he never lost by 3 before managing rovers and he aint use to losing. he thinks he knows everything but he was found out and im sure he wont learn from this but remain arrogant.

    Would you re-employ? hell NO

we have to give him a good reference to get him off our wage bill?

VISION : 10/10 brought in 20 great players! (Just didn't know how to manage them) - Don't tell that to the employer! <whistle>

APPEARANCE: 10/10 Had a great set of hair :afro:

LEADERSHIP SKILLS: 9/10 Lead us to some crap grounds and gave us 0 points for our troubles <ok>

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: 10/10 The excuses he came up with were top class. i.e Macclesfield 0-0 Gas 'the grass was too long for us to play football' = top drawer this one. <ok>

INTEGRITY: 10/10 - Discerning what is right and what is wrong, he mostly got the wrong things in football right :emoticon-0112-wonde

STRENGTHS: 9/10 - Ummm.... the ability to see where he went wrong in a game...

AREAS FOR DEVELOPMENT: 10/10 - Good young manager who I would recommend only to our red friends Bristol City <biggrin> <ok>

To be fair to Higgs, we all thought he would be the man to take us forward but Higgs acted and this time seems to have got the right man in charge for us <ok>
As for Sexton and Lansdown I don't think they have a clue on how to get a good manager in do they? ...<whistle>

You also forget to mention his promotions with Millwall, Reading and Brighton <cheers>

Anyway on to Derek McInnes.....done well at St Johnstone but not so well with you lot? maybe your club are the 'aberdeen' in his career <confused>

Where would you place Buckle in relation to famously bad Rovers managers such as Ray Graydon and Ian Atkins? Worse or less bad (can't use less bad) <doh>

    Worse...the WORST!
It wasn't just the poor performances on the pitch, it was his belittling
of staff and fans. I genuinely believe that if he had stayed the club
could have gone into meltdown. I've supported Rovers since the late
1950s and no managaer or player has made me so bluddy ANGRY!

I heard Atkins painted the dressing room grey. It was for the players who (in theory) would give them a psychological /mental boost before a game??

Though I think if Buckle stayed here any longer he would ripped the life and soul out of this football club.
