    True.

There is also only one St. James' Park.

There are two stadiums that go by the name of 'Stadium of Light' by the way. The one in the UK wasn't the first...

i agree fella you are correct there is one in portugal and one here in the north east in sunderland.

there used to be two st james parks, one in exeter and one in newcastle.

how ever there is now only one st james park in exeter as the one in newcastle is called the sports direct arena. get used to it.

I wonder if Sunderland will ever do the decent thing and admit their naming shame? The loyal 26,000 fans they have deserve better. I'm sure if they just came forward and said "Look we apologise, we should never have copied Benficas name, it was a moronic thing to do. We should not then have tried to create some back story about mining, or tried to make the ridiculous claim about the official translation of Benficas name." Those loyal 26,000 would have more respect for them that way.

    Any name suggestions?

    I'd go for Shadow Park.

Next game at the real Stadium of Light is an absolute cracker. Porto visit with just 2 points separating the sides. A game befitting of such an historic stadium, not to be confused with a tin shed on Wearside which copied its name. A lad I know took a **** on the site of the mackem one as he worked on it. He says since that day he has slept ever so well, safe in the knowledge it is indeed the Stadium of ****e

They should have had shallower stands for sure, they might have been able to fill them.
