No Idea, but I'd rather be on Tofino Bay than horse having its first run in 22 months

Cousin Vinny is a horse I really like

I can't believe they ended up going the staying route with him in 2010 - his chasing form is easily ignored as he was a poor jumper of a fence. He is a high class 2m hurdler. Only 2 3/4 lengths behind Hurricane Fly in the Royal Bond then won next two and was cantering all over Pandorama before coming unseating at the last. Nothing wrong with his 5th in the Surpeme Novices and then 2nd to Mikael when he was at his best over 2m4f. Some class form in there I would him to bounce back to his best.

Cousin Vinny returns to the track after nearly two years off in the 2 mile conditions hurdle. He is a course and distance winner and, if back to his best, should give a very good account of himself.

Don't get me wrong, Cousin Vinny is a class horse, just would rather be backing the current form horse in Tofino Bay, than one returning from a long lay off, especially as the Mullins yard seem to be struggling a bit this year.

Afters all, hope you have better weather than up here

2 for me today, both outsiders BUT both from yards I do well with! Before that on to Saturdays big races:

Eider: Trends have led me to Posh Bird and Mister Marker so waiting to see how the ground lies before deciding which is the main bet, have had small win on both at 9s though.

RP Chase: 2 catch the old eye, Hectors Choice although he does have to get over not winning at 3m! The main bet at 12s EW is a very unlucky horse from LTO, FRUITY O'ROONEY ran a cracker despite his saddle slipping! Could get compensation Saturday, Cannington Brook was up there also but the trainer has yet to decide IF he runs so watch your bets with this one lads!!

Today: 405 Donny: I know Distime is strongly fancied by connections and will get punted on course BUT Kate Walton also believes her CROP WALKER has an EW chance back over hurdles and at 28s makes for a nice EW bet.

500 Lingers: Those oldies from 606 know how well I do with the Balding yard <somersault> they have one today names SEA ANENOME who ran OK last season without being given a hard time and not getting beaten far, looks on a fair mark today and i believe the 20s BOG are very fair

    Be lucky all who play

Diamond Edge, I like Rowan Tiger also, especially now he's dropping back to 2 miles (where he can be held up in this poorer race). However, I'm also interested in J'Adhere- he slaughtered Roll A Dice (who's vying for favouritism) by 18 lengths, and is now only five pounds worse off. Why he's 16/1 I don't know- worth an each way bet.

I don't care for Devotion To Duty , though. I think Distime stands out here. His second behind Barbatos has been well franked and he should really like the step up to 3 miles.
Bottom weight Crop Walker just may be of interest, though. He slaughtered one of today's runners, Ely Brown (2/9) by 25 lengths and now meets him on 13lbs better terms! Trouble is he hasn't run since last summer, so will he be ready?

See Diamond Harry has had a successful wind-op and goes for the GC.

Always liked this lad and if he turns up fit and well could have a e/w chance. I actually thought his run in the Betfair @ Haydock was OK, travelled well enough before blowing up. The next was stinky, but clearly had problems. One to note.

GDC, sorry to duplicate your comments about Distime and Crop Walker (hadn't read them)- Betfair had it at 80/1 earlier on!

    Cheers Ardent, interesting selections.

Oscar Nominee is very much a watching brief for me. Hugely impressive first time over hurdles with some subsequent stong form from horses well beaten in that race. That said I'm not sure what to make of his 3rd because Cinders and Ashes was heavily eased and Double Ross, who was giving 4lbs, was poor latest off of 9-7 in the Betfair. The opposition today aren't donkeys, The Weatherman has some strong form and looked like he'd run in a well held 2nd when falling 2 starts back. Abbey Garth lumped a huge weight round in his only run, a NHF race, when he ran green but still held on. He could be anything really. Presenting Ace's latest run was also impressive another, 4th behind Montbazon, Vulcanite and All the Aces. Presenting Aces and Abbey Garth both receive 6lbs too so I'll be watching that race but good luck.

The 1.55 Juvenile hurdle is above average and really worth a watch btw.

My best bet of the day is Ballyalton in the bumper and I'll be doubling it up with Ardent's 5 pointer, but only for a coupla quid. Good luck all <ok>

The Mullins yard are not struggling this year.

I've done a small stakes trixie on Cousin Vinny, Maggie Connolly and Enriching today. Good luck with your bets lads.

The 4.05 is a typically trappy bet365 bonus race. I already have one bet on Lamboro Lad but there are several being shortened during the day. The more I look at the race though the more I think that ELY BROWN @ 20-1 is a bit of value. If he jumps the well he must have a shout and 3lbs Charlie Huxley takes off could be invaluable.

Only the one for today, runs in the 5.00 Lingfield, where I think Drinmoy Lad is the value pick at 9's.

A couple of others that I like but probably not backing
    Doncaster 5.10 Kaysersberg
    Kempton 8.30 Very Well Red
    Lingfield 3.55 Diamond Vine
Ludlow 3.40 A Little Bit Dusty
Punchestown 4.10 Too Late To Sell
