Now THAT would be a media-friendly form of protest, a load of Newcastle fans attending Exeter matches.

Speaking of which, did anyone notice the number of empty seats for Sunderland's game against Arsenal ?

Couldn't believe it: first decent chance for silverware in years, big name opposition, good performance, cracking reslt and the place looke 2/3's full.

Got to admit I personally thought they would have had at least 40,000 on Saturday. What was their attendance for the league match against Arsenal the previous weekend.

    Interesting.

Below is a stat from the nadir of our 2008-9 season:

"a record low attendance of 20,577[33] on Wednesday, 24 September in a League Cup fixture, the lowest ever attendance for a competitive first-team match since the 1993 promotion to the top flight,[34] and a drop of over 4,000 from previous lows."

Our worst ever moment is only slightly off the attendance they draw when they're the form team in the country in the latter stages of what is still a major tournament. All banter aside, ther really is no competition when it comes to putting bums on seats

Better than I expected for the league game but the FA Cup game overshadows it. I thought they would have got more for the cup game.

Says the guy who seems to be obsessed with winding people up about St James' Park's name change. Also we are higher than you in the league and oh you ain't beat Everton since 2001 so don't count ya chickens too quickly.
