I've sat on Shearer and Ruddocks knee. I got asked on a date by Michelle McManus in a club in London. I didn't know who she was at the time and told her that I like a bit of meat but your taking the p*ss (I was young, forgive me). She got me thrown out of the VIP lounge lol. I got a kiss from Diana Vickers in 90 degrees after she slated my old band live on stage. I've been on nights out with Beatts, Claus and Kev Davies. (None intentionally, I just have connected mates). My little Sis dated Bale for a few months. She met him when she sang at St Marys before a game a few years back. I never met him because he was obsessed with meeting up with her at a hotel in Bournemouth so he wouldn't get papped! Lol. Then he joined Spurs and it fizzled out. My sister also sang with Craig David at a private party also at St Marys. I Went into Grosvenor Casino near Xmas about 4 years back and was stood at Roulette table. My mate stood next to me did the loudest fart you could ever hear, we both turned round and who was walking past right at that exact moment....only bloody Mick Hucknall. He was doing a private gig at the back. Crazy times.
I ran the first course at Southampton Tech for the apprentices of Southampton FC. Manager was big Lawrie, and so I met him on a few occasions. When I went to the Dell on business I used to sit in John Mortimore's office and chat football with him. He was super! Some of the lads on the course were Danny Wallace, Reuben Agboola, Mark Wright, Steve Baker, Alan Knill, Martin Foyle etc. Also met Alan Woodford who was the chairman at the time. However the most famous person I have ever met is Mohammed Ali. I was at the Talk of the Town nightclub in London and he walked in with a huge entourage. I went down later and got his autograph.
Didnt exactly meet him but I saw Johnny Depp from about 10cm and got a picture of him down a side street on Broadway in New York.
Mike Tyson, in his prime in the Armani store in Bond Street. Said hello, he said hello back. Its as far as our relationship went. He was surprisingly small. Had about 80 hangers on with him though. Kate Winslet, free basing at a party in Eastleigh. Man, that woman can take her drugs. (One of the above is a lie)
That's no biggy, Depp has a house in Lymington and has been spotted around Soton quite a few times (gods honest truth)
Dennis Rodman tried to crack on to my girlfriend once in the rather wonderfully named The Drink in Chicago. She had no idea who he was and came over to me saying "I think a drug dealer is trying to chat me up"..............let's just say he was rather "pimp" dressed.........
I have met a few Saints players around the city as many of you have, including Kevin Keegan and Peter Shilton. However, my one claim to some sort of fame was teaching Samantha Fox to drive. She came on a weeks course in North Wales where I live now and I was given the job of getting her through her test. It was a rather enjoyable week!
Yeah, i know many people who have met him in Lymo. bruce grobbelaar also lived in lymington for a while
I met Michael Caine at a book signing, in the Harvard bookstore. Mary Decker Slaney, ran past me in Crawley too! For you youngsters, she was an American olympic athelete at the time, married to British athelete, Richard Slaney.
Rupert Murdoch. Met him a few times in the Eighties during my working life. Also met Bob Hawke(Aussie PM) in this period. Ted Heath. Attended a yachting party at friends of ours in Sydney in 1968.
Pete Doherty and Carl Barratt - When Libertines played the Joiners years ago. Chris Martin - Glastonbury 2002, he was in the new bands tent watching a band called The Music. The drummer from Coldplay who's name escapes me I spoke to at St Mary's briefly.
I have met Geoff Hurst, Ian Botham and had a beer with the guys from Wheatus (one hit wonder - teenage dirtbag anyone?) Also been in Nando's with Adam Lallana dining with his girlfriend (fiancee?) next to me.
