and here is said rise... sorry ruff I do apologise. of course you are well in the running for said league. while some press ahcks wrote you off at 5 points odwn well before christmas rest assured i did not so while 2 points would seems a small amount right now i await the next round of games with great trepidation and fear.... but relying on history or a track record if you want to call it such to carry you home is all well and good unitl i mention ancient history of occasions when said knowledge let you down. City have mancini (3 itaian championships) yaya, and a few others who might just help them with the pressure... you are of course right that you should have your eyes o nthe prize and will pressurize them all they way and exploit any mistake by trying to pull out a gap yourself.... best of luck.
This is the interesting thing about Mancini, he won those league titles pretty much unchallenged because Milan and Juve had been removed from the picture by points deductions and relegation. We are right on their necks, let's see how they react. I always took his absolute inability to make any form of a CL challenge with his multi Serie A winners as more of a mark of his managerial ability.
you are correct on that one for sure ruff, but having said that he did win cups there v juve before that happened and there wasn't too much added to it by mourinho to win the CL... he got them to semis himself... look at the listings of winners when he was incharge... there's luck to CL winners... we all know that 2004-08... in 04/05 they played AC in the QF and lost heavily... that team had some world class players but we beat them inthe final. they topped their group in 05/06 the lost on away goals to villareal again in the QF who then lost to arsenal. agin topped group in 06/07 they lost in the last 16 to valencia, again on away goals and valencia lost to chelsea finished second in group in 07/08 they lost to US after a shcokerr over both legs.. last 16. so you have to look at mancin and say he was close on a couple of occasions but lost out on away goals and lost badly to us and milan... that cost him his job and why moratti got mourinho (and regretted it even though he got his pot of gold) in the end a few pots and a big reputation sure but he's delivered more each year at city and they do have talent. Will they crack is the big question?
Yeah, it is. And we're waiting if they do. I think he's creating a good squad with them to be fair, he's handled one or two situations very well and others not so. We'll see, they definitely have the capability to win it and it's not likely to come down to that mental strength.
It's too close to call which is VERY worrying. It's them or you, and I'm very conscious and nervous about your record.
blackburn, arsenal, leeds... there's an awful long time since those utd flops... i think really if you look back say 8 years then the title winners in every case were pretty clear winners to my mind. 2003-04 Arsenal pretty clear there 2004–05 Chelsea again under mourinho unassailable 2005–06 Chelsea as above 2006–07 Manchester United grant, utd won it handy 2007–08 Manchester United as above, scolari 2008–09 Manchester United This time you had a run after a bad start and LFc cocked it up.... you were well well clear and won by 4 point seven though we hammered you 2009–10 Chelsea Easy winners under anchelotti 2010–11 Manchester United, this time round nobody dominated par se but you were easily beter than the rest I've not seen a collapse in there bar say cheslea in 2008/09 where we ran them close for a while they collapsed and you just went on the run.. I have to say this year is the first time two teams have really gone hammer and tongs at it for the entire year which of course should make the league better. one might even say this could be a small facotr in both clubs taking the eye off the CL... ferguson alluded to rest players. I think personally two players hold this title in thier hands... silva and rooney. silva doens't look the same player since before christmas and is vital creative link for city... rooney sulked for at least amonth after that incident with gibson and evans. he looks back in not only form but attitude as well so that could be the factor. (blow hot or blow cold?)
I think you've confused some of the leagues there. In 06/07 we won it from Mourinho, and tho' it was comfortable in the end we were only three points ahead of them with five games to go. 07/08 was when Grant was in charge, and the title race went right to the wire - we were dead level with Chelsea on the final day of the season and if they hadn't conceded a last minute equaliser at Bolton then it would've been decided on goal difference. 08/09 was pretty much a one horse race I agree, although it got a bit squeaky bum after we lost to you and Fulham 09/10 was damn tight - we were ahead with six games to go, and then gifted the title to Chelsea by losing at home (or should that be the linesman gifted them the title ) and they still had to win their last game to secure the league 10/11 was also a one horse race So out of the last five titles three of them have been pretty close and two of them were only decided for certain on the final day. I reckon this one could go all the way as well.
If it is still close when you play city, Bridge Bar and Cheshire Cheese are on offer How did things go with your CERN mate?
Sounds good - last week of April could be when it all goes down. All went well, he's still failing to prove strong CP violation, but should still be able to get his PhD regardless. Damn layabout scientists...
There's a new sex drug out called Viazac. It's half Viagra and half Prozac. So, if you don't get a fu.k, you don't give a fu.k
The theory that antimatter and matter are not entirely symmetrical but the laws of physics are slightly different between them. Which would explain why the universe is 99.999% matter when there should be equal amounts of both if they behave the same. CP violation has been observed for the electroweak force but not the strong force.
Thanks Jonesey and Swarbs. I checked it out and it all came flooding back to me. Did you ask your mate when the fu.ker's getting switched on again?
He has no idea - he only gets to send them requests for data, doesn't actually get to play with the thing...
