Waddo is quite right. Negative before we even start the game IMO... TONY, just tell the lads to go out and "Shut this guy up" SIMPLE.. that said.. Evans took some stick this afternoon. We politely asked him the score. Reference was also made to how portly he was. Championship players 1. Delap 2. ?? The rest have the potential to play at a good level of EPL if they are played in their correct positions and the manager encourages the team to play in a positive manner. I think about Whitehead a lot being Championship material and the jury is still out ot on him. He makes an impact when he comes on sub! Enough said
Don't be mean Potts, there are some very good players in the Championship, and they don't deserve to be insulted by being compared to Salif Diao. I think Sorensen, Begs, Shawx, Huth, Wilson, Wilko, Pennant, Etherington, Jones, Fuller, and Crouch are all good Premiership players. Others such as Upson, Whitehead, Whelan, Shotton, and Walters would probably find another top flight club if they were to leave Stoke, although they mightn't be regular starters. What we do need is another wide player to put pressure on Pennant and Etherington, or give them a rest. Being forced to play Delap or Shotton out there when either of our two wingers is injured just isn't good enough. Which is why we should have kept Ben Marshall.
Peadar Sorry I think you misunderstood my comment to Cris tenter..Potter! I was thinking the other player might be Diao. But I do agree that those mentioned are excellent player's when played in correct positions and on a regular basis. I was actually wondering that IF....... we go out to Valencia on Thursday and that's looking more likely than not. WHY does'nt T.P. just play a setttled team.. i.e. use same defence and wingers if fit and I'm sure we could put a run of results together. NOT sure if this Europa has really helped this season? But I would not have missed it personally. Great to be involved and I'm already looking forward to Sunday's game with Swansea. Whitehead? IMO not good enough and that is where I think we need massive improvement in the summer. Plus a winger or two. To ask Delap to play there is ridiculous really.
Potts, Agreed. Salif was on the bench today. When Delap was sent off I thought he might bring him on in place of Jerome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cris FOR ONCE, T.P. he do something positive. When I saw Delap sent off I thought OH **** now we go all defensive. At least Wilko was solid enough. What worried me was when the commentator said.. " Wilkinson for x and he likes to tackle too, sometimes on the wrong side of the laws of the game" I would send Delap and Diao on a sponsored bike ride to outer *****lia. Should keep em both busy till the end of May!

We are spending money but regressing, hope Uncle Peters pockets are still full, because we really need a MAJOR overhaul of the squad. PS not included Diao or Mama because they aint even championship standard.
And those are just the ones that play if you take into account the squad players! So that realistically leaves, Ethrington, Pennant, Shawx, Huth, Palacious, Crouch, Jerome, KJ - Fuller, Upson, Woody although capable and quality on their day are either at the end of their career or on a short contrcat so can not really be classed as future players in the squad., By my calculations that gives us 8 prem players plus our keepers.
Exactly, out of the players i mentioned, reallistically how many would be starting for another Prem team? My opinion, a big fat 0, sort of sums our Squad up.
