is this a good point or is this 2 points dropped?

mcghee certainly is trying to make us hard to break down. under buckle conceding 3 goals a game was the norm but under mcghee we have conceded just 3 goals in his 5 games in charge! we look more stronger, more solid, more tighter, more meaner, more fitter, more awareness and more confident at the back.
were not scoring as much but zeb been missing with suspension, carayol and harrold injured and richards being used more out wide which leaves 38 yeard old mcgleish. we need an out and out striker who has pace. this should be our number 1 priority.
as long as we stay strong and consistant at the back being hard to break down then we will be scoring points and always got a good chance to win the game.

i say good point and a lot of positives to take from this.

    your thoughts?

I think a point each was a fair outcome. I enjoyed today's match. As they say, there are 0-0 draws and there are 0-0 draws.
Some of the football played by us today was the best I've seen this season. The players are playing without inhibition and
    are not afraid to pass.
I'm prepared to put idle thoughts of play-offs out of my mind and see the rest of this season as a time for settling down
    and settling in.
A special word for Poke. MoM and brave and commanding. Sometimes he flaps but for a L2 'keeper he's good.
Our attendance was the best in L2, and only three better in L1 !
Oh, and I thought the referee had a good game.
Isn't it great to have a proper manager?!!!

I think it was Zeb going down for the alleged pen and to be honest he made a bit of a meal of it - it didn't look like a pen from where I was.

I agree that we look far stronger and unlikely to concede, but it certainly wasn't the most exciting spectacle I've ever seen! Oxford rearely threatened and nor did we. We are passing it and not hoofing it out of defence a lot more, but we're not brilliant up the right flank or through the middle. When Muzzy came on in the 2nd half we carried more of a threat on the left flank and we finished the stronger side.

It's clear that McGhee will need to strengthen in the summer if we're going to be promotion candidates next season. Also, I thought that Scott Rendell was totally anonymous for Oxford.

I think Muzzy has to be in the side. He takes people on, makes things happen and opens up defences.

I got visions of delusion beleiving we'd win after losing at Shrews but a point was ok. A few weeks back Ox would have battered us by 3 or 4 they're a tidy side so not conceeding shows how far we've come under super McG. The whole team has a more positive vibe and we're starting to look more solid at the back every game and Poke imo is the best keeper we've had for a long time. Once some of the lads are fit and we're firing on all cylinders up front we will be a force to be reconed with.

    It's bloody marvelous <ok>

McGhee is trying out different formations. I suppose he feels happy that he has a stronger goalkeeper in Mr Poke and that allows him to experiment with the players. He probably knows that we are safe but to far away from the playoffs. It is reported in the independent, he has stated " we have a lot of work to do now until the start of next season to ensure we hit he ground running... ...To do this I have to learn about the players as quickly as possible. I can do this in training but I have to see them in matches. I have to see combinations, how different players work together, as well as individuals..."
He also goes onto to say he will keep an eye on Byron Anthony. Not sure how he does that!!!
Back to Poke. I think that if we had him in Goal at the beginning of the season we would have been stronger. However, we may still would have had Spoilt Bastard Buckle.

Definitely a point gained. Thanks to Buckle (and Martin Kelner) we can't afford to be choosy about where and how we get our points between now and the end of the season. The sooner we get to 50 points the better then we can concentrate on getting as high up the league as possible.

I tend to agree with Gastro here, Muzzy opens up defences and we have more chance of scoring when he plays. Happy with a point though.

Small point CJS; you aren't "more stronger" you are either "stronger" or "more strong". Terrible English there. I would have let you off but you repeated it about 5 times!!!

To further your point of English or in your case Scottish grammar; Mc or Mac means 'son of', therefore must precede not follow the name.

<laugh> Yeah! piss off Del! <ok>

I think we can take plenty of positives from the Oxfam game. after our defeat to Shrewsbury the most important thing was to get a reaction from the players and getting a clean sheet against a play off team will do me :)

This is where another run begins! 1 game unbeaten - Come on you Blues!! <diva>
