http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/...media-rangers?commentpage=2#start-of-comments I said a while back that he's become a little self congratulatory.......but why the hell not. Some of the comments still don't seem to get this.
He is a bit self congratulatory, but then he was the only ****er in the wider media who got it completely right from the start, so I suppose he has a right to be a little bit smug.
To be fair he/she admits to not being a journalist or looking forfame or anything of the sort. Reading between the lines I would say RTC is someone involved in finance/legal work who has a friend possibly very high up & trusted at Rangers: He has obviously been given access to some documents & leaked information from somewhere & a fair bit is about documents that staff at Rangers could have access to. & alot of the other stuff he has spoken about takes a hell of a long time to go through & validate & would need access to specific websites - checking companies details, finances, directors etc. Most of the stuff has been spot on, and unlike the rest he has given clear messages of what will happen or what is about to come out rather than vague, cryptic ****e you hear from others & those trying to hang on to RTCs 'fame'. He has got things wrong for sure, some details have not been 100% - but he has admitted that & admitted when he does not something or when he is guessing what is going on. Unless you have access to every single document involved in the whole Rangers financial mess part of it will be educated guess work. Still don't understand how people can mock RTC though........there is a tax case, Rangers are in administration.
And in fairness to the guy who writes vague, cryptic ****e, he too said that Rangers fans needed to act or it'll be too late......and it is now too late. I very rarely watch them, but I might take a look tomorrow. I am intrigued.
It's just awesome A part time blogger, who used Google to find out more about Craig Whyte than mainstream Scottish Media is recognized by a real paper Some journos are still in denial though, not wanting to discuss liquidation until they are in liquidation
Even mad Vlad the Hearts owner today has attacked Rangers for not paying their taxes , rightly so Hearts are owed 800,000 for Wallace , that money could sink Hearts
"The last vertex of this triangle is the reader – the average football fan. Fed a diet rich in sycophantic rubbish, he lost the ability to review critically what he was reading." That's about right but it doesn't just apply to the vile ones. So many Scottish football fans need the meeja to tell them what to think. How many good Celtic players have lost there form due to fans turning on them when the meeja decided it was time for them to be brought down? Majic Zurawski scored 18 goals in his first 24 games for Celtic then went off form for a couple of games - the meeja decided his career was over. Daniel Majstorovic made ONE mistake early on in this season and the meeja decidede to turn the fans against him. No mention of the 7 (seven) howlers made by McGregor this season. Boruc didn't get away with half of that yet the meeja decided to (try to) turn the fans against him.
How some of the posters can say, "there was no media bias" is beyond me. The media were constantly trying to put pressure on the Celts, cracked crests, players going to leave the club, etc etc etc.
I predict a full house defiantly singing the "party songs". And they'll win 5-0. Although a Killie win would just be the icing on the jelly and ice-cream
Well done the blogger did more than mainstream media, but he/she didn't find out the real answers. What evidence does hmrc have against rangers? As it stands rangers are very likely to come out of administration although with a reduced squad and having to pay rent on ibrox. Lose the big tax case and its almost certain to be liquidation and then they will have to play in the 3rd division.
Yeah I know, but why not. False modesty is no kind of modesty. The content is right and I've read the exact same conclusion on here from more than a few posters. The media have been utterly negligent in their coverage of Rangers over the last...well forever and as such are partly culpable for allowing this situation to fester.
Self-praise is no recommendation... However, I agree with the overall message. The media took whatever scraps Murray (and then Whyte) gave them and rarely published stories with any type of negative slant.
I did read the article and enjoyed it -thanks for posting it Reb. I agree, he comes across as a bit too self important and congratulatory.....but I also agree, why not....I like it ...and he was right. Of course, Nostradamus-type predictions can be made to fit many disastrous events today as well! "Sisyphean futility" - haven't heard that phrase since my Uni days - a long time ago (perchance I know the blogger?) In any case, King Sisyphus was purported to be a greedy and fraudulent individual.......mmm.... remind you of anyone involved in the Rangers debacle?
My genuine greatest issue with the blog was he didn't show me enough proof. He had documents which turned out to be right, but he didn't give me any killer early signs, anything that could be confirmed independently. I was sitting by waiting to have my net cash worth on Celtic winning the league when administration looked certain. In the end I only had a few hundred quid at 9/5 in November. By the time administration came Celtic were 1/7 for the league anyway. I did invest heavily in the 1/7 but the return is no where near as great as it would have been if the ****er had of convinced me completely when it was still 9/5. BTW I've hedged out at 1/50
