Swansea allegedly stand to earn over 90 million pounds for their promotion last season, 40 mill for tv revenue, gate receipts, sponsors etc, 40 + million if relegated with parachute payments. Hypothetically, you are owner of Hull City, how would you spend the money we would make if we get promoted ?
Bonuses and increased wages for the promotion squad as per their existing contracts would account for a chunk of it. Key players like Stewart, Chester, and Koren onto longer deals because on current deals if we got relegated in the first season they'd then all only have one year left on their contracts (and Koren would be out of contract). We don't want someone like Stewart impressing in the PL and then not being prepared to sign a new deal so we have to sell cheaply just to get something for him. A decent amount put aside for the new training facilities/academy (some of that would be accounted for from parachute payments rather than a one off cost). See what's left and use it to sort out the 9 or 10 signings we need to make to have a decent squad depth (new deals for players out of contract this summer count as signings).
