Dear Mr Anschutz Someone who knows a lot more about how to run a successful business than you do has spoken. Lidl says "don't buy THFC". Yours. If some people knew what they were talking about they would still be ignorant, self opinionated but still ignorant.
Fine - just asking I actually find some non-Spurs fan's comments quite amusing and as long as the consensus of opinion is that lidl is of value then that's fine.
10/10. Hbics is well worth a mention too. BBF, I see you're a Scouse in Ireland, what are you on the run for?
Suggestion - don't rely on thoughts, rely on facts. You failed with the comedy thing and it looks as though you are failing in everything else too. Not really your day is it :-(
Well, Ive just done my homework on Mr. Anschutz the owner of AEG, he's the 39th richest person in the USA with a personal wealth of 7billion....yes I'll say that again SEVEN BILLION. The link below is the Forbes top 400. Luke, I'll save you hours of searching Mr. Glazer is way down in 139th place with a paltry 2.2b. Any mousers thinking they might have a say should quickly find reverse and go home, it would also be better if you started to look for Mr. Henry from the bottom...he's at no. 375, with a couple of ISA's and a decent Club Card total. http://www.forbes.com/forbes-400/list/#p_1_s_arank_All industries_All states_All categories_ I'm slightly enthused.
Only because they've been poor....literally. He's Joe Lewis' mate Luke. Joe is in his 70's and wants out of the business that lies ahead, Anschutz will be well aware of Spurs and the PL, so stop talking **** and pick your bottom lip up off the floor while you're at it! I told you I've done my homework, stop hypothesising and check facts.
If we do get taken over by them, surely it won't matter how rich he is because of the financial fair play rules? You're only allowed to spend what money you make through income of the club, so whether he is worth £7billion or £7million how much he has surely wouldn't matter no?
If AEG's core business is stadium ownership/management, then that is probably what they are looking at. I would guess Lewis want's to maximise income which would involve rock concerts, conferences, exhibitions etc. That sort of thing is AEG's bread and butter. Levy/Lewis are also looking for investors in the Northumberland development, if they can get the stadium built very cheaply, i.e. subsidised by the profit from the new shops/homes it would reduce the exposure of football club and allow reinvestment in the footballing side of the business. Following the Ar5ena1 redevelopment model is both unfeasible and unwise in these times of financial uncertainty. The stadium move is a once in a lifetime opportunity to lift Spurs to the next level but it is not without risk. It is more prudent to share the risk. David Dein recognised the risk Ar5ena1 were taking and was vehemently opposed to their development model. Time proved that he was correct but his stand cost him his position within the club. Could you imagine if the goons had listened to Dein? If they were filling Wembley Stadium every other week they would have at least and extra £150M per season to invest in wages/transfers which would mean they would be able to compete with £ity and the Chavs in the transfer market. God forbid. The planning delays that we have suffered may in fact be a blessing in disguise. It has given us time to look at all business opportunities and get business professionals on board. Obviously the OS was the best business opportunity, the numbers stacked up but (fortunately IMHO), it was not to be. Hopefully, whatever finally comes out of the development, it will secure Spurs position as one of the great footballing teams for generations to come. If AEG want to be a part of that, then they should be welcomed with open arms.
