    What if, at the beginning of every home match, from now on, the fans sing "Welcome to St James Park" (to the tune of "Go West")?

    The media would surely pick it up, especially for televised matches.

    Worth a try?

    What happens when the opposing fans (like us) start singing the same tune to "Welcome to the Sports Direct" back at you!! (Guarantee it'll happen!)

    Marcus, your chants back may work for a while but if its anything like last time you came to St James then most of you will be gone by half time anyway

    something in this vein would probably get the whole crowd going and to be honest, what away supporters are louder than a packed st james', our away fans are louder than the home teams most of the time, people didn't and haven't accepted this name changing, so they constantly have to remind us of it in order for it to succeed.

    And there, in a nutshell, is why so many of the regular posters are leaving Not606. It is supposed to be a forum, where fans can float their ideas - whether good or bad - for debate.

    What we get, however, is fans of other clubs, like this idiot from Southampton, trawling the boards, looking to take the piss.

    Southampton fan who was born in Newcastle and then lived back there until about 5 years ago. In fact, I owned a Newcastle United season ticket for 5 seasons and followed them throughout Europe as well, so my credentials as being a Newcastle fan are probably stronger than yours, despite your prolific post total on an internet forum. My father is Newcastle United daft and they are my 2nd team, slightly behind Southampton. Just think its funny as no Newcastle fans I know plan new songs to sing at SJP on an internet forum. Certainly not songs to the tune of 'Go West' by the Pet Shop Boys.
