The lad was from Newbiggin Hall, say no more. I doubt he was ever really angered by the sign coming down (who is bothered by anything Ashley does now?), I reckon his urge for vandalism simply needed satisfied. The news had followed Jeremy Kyle whilst watching TV in the morning, light bulb went on, hey presto he has a cover story.
You say it like this whole renaming thing has been a big con to boost his shop sales...............................
How is joker park doing, all your history, memories [like obrien over the wall] all gone bye bye, must have been sad leaving your home a would rather have a few new banners at st james park then for it to be knocked down and we have to move
15 years too late with that wind up bonny lad... I don't know about having your head in the clouds so much as up your arse
Thats me in the yellow safety coat making sure they take the sign down!, i told them the ' sports direct.com ' logo should be at least 50 ft high and on the night flashing red and white behind the Gallowgate end, and ready for when we go there!, and i wanted another 6 around the stadium.
We already have them around the Stadium, rumour is some Mackems bringing Sports Direct plastic bags to derby, Mike will love that getting free advertising
Have I missed something obvious here? Where is the joke in bringing plastic bags to the derby? I assume I'm going to look a right idiot when you tell me but I'm struggling to see who that would wind up. Certainly not the fans and defo not Mike because as you say, he'll be rubbing his hands.
Aye - an ugly old stadium in the middle of the town and covered in graffiti suits them. I expect some rather choice spelling faux pas in the coming months.
