Seems I may have accidentally struck a nerve here. Fancy trying to persuade yourself you that your club haven't dropped a bollock by calling it the Stadium of Light. That would be like us describing the Sports Direct signs as classy. The Benfica stadium has been commonly translated and known as the Stadium of Light for many many years, certainly long before the mackems copied the name in the ultimate act of laziness. Quite simply you can't re-write history just because your club were a bit thick.

Its like the hurridly thought up mining story and Davy Lamp put at the entrance.

I am certainly not defending the name if our stadium, I don't like it. However it only has a similar name to that of Benficas stadium. It is important to note here the use of the word 'similar'.

Going on the offensive because your stance is indefensible? I think so.

(Is your mags only forum going that well...)

Benfica's stadium is called Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica.

Just a casual observation (a factually correct one).

There is only on 'Stadium Of Light' in the world, factually speaking, and that is in SR5.

There's only one Sports Direct Arena as well, funnily enough, that's in NE1...

Finally, there is a St James Park as well, that can be found in EX4.

    <ok>

Why let a silly little thing like facts get in the way of an illformed argument?

I remember the last 2 times the Mackems got cocky and started thinking they were hilarious just before a derby. Hope the trend continues.

I'm utterly confident that your stadium being named after a pastie snafflers empire will have no bearing on the result come derby day <ok>

Skunk City council have urged people to keep using the original name: I hope Ashley sues the bollocks off them..<laugh>

The naming of it was a major bollock by the regime in charge at the time.
It has no relevance to me Jarra & I hope they do change it mate.
Looking forward to it with a few nerves. <ok>
It's Ashley's mate, he can call it whatever he likes.

He'd have a hard job. The ground is built on the original St James' Park where it got it's name from, and Ashley doesn't own the ground the council do.

Don't understand the issue me like. The stadium was renamed in November. It's only took him a couple of months to change the signs. Old news really.
