Really don't understand the Leicester fans moaning at the ref. They seem to overlook the fact we had to defend that free kick in the last minute with 9 men rather than 11 after the ref wrongly sent off Doyley (wasn't a red anyway despite him sending off the wrong player) and wouldn't allow our sub into position. Only difference is we capitalised on the opportunities given to us by the ref and they didnt. And by the way. Only ONE of our goals was deflected

The free kick should have been a penalty. The foul was on the line and the line is part of the area which should of been a penalty

Of course we all know what the Leicester manager meant when he said he knew how we'd play. Long ball from our half down the middle to a big bloke up front. Route one, direct etc. etc. like we used to play under that "turnip" Graham Taylor and like we've played ever since whichever manager and set of players we've had. Don't you lot ever read the Daily Mail or listen to Spurs fans?

We used to play that way under Nigel with Steve Howard. He wasnt knocking it he was just knocking our players for not being properly prepared for it. Thats why he brought on Wes Morgan to deal with it

Come on be fair w_y, if you are a fan of a club that has bought a team and maintain it at high cost, then you have every right to expect it to go out and perform and win all of the games against teams that have only had £1m to spend on players.

The manager admitted that his players had not played well, and he was disappointed that they failed to win let alone draw, but he put the blame on them rather than the officials who were as bad for both sides.

Seeing as poor little old Watford are only two points behind Leicester now, maybe it is better to expect little and get more, than to expect everything and get less.

Actually, Proud_Fox, I was being a just little sarcastic there. Every opposition manager who states after a game that he knew how we'd play is accusing us of being direct, one-dimensional and boring - and therefore "knocking it". You are naive in thinking otherwise.

In the area or on the line is irrelevant - a free kick was the correct decision. Not only did he award it against the wrong player, he awarded it to the wrong team - we weren't the ones guilty of diving. ;)

Makes a change for Watford to get some goals, whether lucky deflections or real propper ones our players kicked or headed into the net, and have a referee that is a bit of a rebel and will not toe the FA's anti-Watford line.

It shows nothing. He is already in the air practising his swallow dive. His foot is outside the line, so even if there had been contact it would have been a freekick, nothing more.

What it does show is the guy who got sent off behind the action. <yikes>

oh don't doubt it Zen, he was as much on their side as ours (if he was on ours, which i don't think he was). For a start, Dan is convinced we should have had a penalty up the other end, though without the screen working i can't tell you if he's right or not. Not only that, if you look at the amount of cards (including the ridiculous red) that we got compared to Leicester, despite the fact that they were fouling left right and centre, you could make a case that the ref was with the away team last night and obviously on their payroll ;)...

He allowed a clear foul for your 3rd and gave us a freekick where he should have given a penalty.

Yeah, we love that ref -.-

Dan might well have been right. Robbo called for a Watford penalty also, yet nothing was given.

I think we should move on now. If Andy Kings Crown Jewels wants the ' we were robbed ' position then lets give it to him (although the picture shows Beckford OUTSIDE the area and does not prove he didn't dive, and our 3rd goal there was no foul in the build up). OK Andy you were robbed, we were lucky - but you are not having the three points back. We have those 3 points, you don't and I don't give one iota what you think of the ref, the decisions, the conspiracy against you, your bad luck etc...

If it is diving or if this is a foul it is outside the penalty box. The arc is to keep the footballer 10m away when a penalty is being taken, it is not part of the penalty area for awarding penalties.

The position of the player sitting on the grass is obviously in the 10m arc and Jermaine Beckford appears to be flying even before his trailing leg might make contact with the defenders I would say he was trying for a free kick rather than trying for a goal. A player f his level of skill should have been able to score from this position without needing to fall over.

if this is the event where Lloyd Doyley was sent off then the referee is very wrong. The footballer who might make a foul is very pale and last time I looked Lloyd was not.

I have not seen Watford at The Vic since a couple of games late last year, so I now rely on Watford player.

However, I very much doubt we are candidates for the drop now so if I were SD I'd be tempted to bring the youth (Massey, Assombalonga and Witch) back from their loans and use them as 'impacts' perhaps two-thirds into a game after starting with Deeney and Garner.

I really feel Massey could be the next Sordell given more exposure (and therefore flogged under the Baz 'break-even scheme).

Any way you won so well done.

I think you have done very well considering all the players you have lost this season. You have lost your 2 goalscorers, Buckley and your manager and still not in immediate danger of going down. I think you have enough about you to stay up but you need to get rid of your keeper as everytime i watch the football league show he has made a massive cock up.

Well done on the 3 points and see you next season as neither sides are going anywhere

Thanks for that Proud Fox. It is nice to be able to disagree about game changing incidents in a friendly and civilised manner. Good luck to you for the rest of the season and I hope you beat Cardiff in the play-off final.
