Unfortunately, for us, there are so many Southampton fans addicted to Frattoin, it's hard to tell the junkies apart.
southampton on the brink of extinction, club decide to stage a "save our club game" idea soon scrapped due to lack of interest with a grand total of 1500 tickets sold........ discuss
Ha! I remember that. Bad publicity was the cry, I think. I really don't care a jot, about Southampton's crowds, unless I'm playing Dev's attendance game. Why some of them obsess over ours, is a mystery to me. Oh well if it keeps them happy.
Careful what you say meowth, or we will get that utter prat LordDuckShunter joining the thread offerring us his gripping words of wisdom
Some Southampton fans obsess over our attendence becuase they perpetuate the myth none of us sensible types believe - that Portsmouth fans think they're superior to all others. In the mind of those fans who crow about attendences the fact that Fratton Park doesn't get sold to capacity every game is proof positive against the myth that they perpetuate. So its kind of a situation of getting themselves worked up about something they have convinced themselves the majority of Portsmouth fans believe and they feel the need to gloat about it when they see any fault in that perception. But, like most football fans, there are different sections who believe different things. I have no doubt we have just as many idiot amongst out fanbase as they have in theirs.
Wtf is the point in this thread!?! Was no different to ours when we were in Pompey's position... Think before you write.
The attendance thread/argument/discussion is indeed the most depressing of thingys. I'd be unsurprised if many fans refuse to put more money into Admin Andy's safe hands at this time. BUT - Good news everybody, there's another Gregory on a white charger coming over the horizon. Lets hope AA (and the Football League) at least google his name before agreeing any deal this time. You know just to check if there's a history of money laundering!
The reason FP does not sellout every match is for the same reasons that SMS does not sell out every game. We all have commitments, responsibilities, obligations (be they family/home/work), financial issues, etc. I am guessing that some of the silly children who spout off on here still turn up at home every evening expecting mummy to put dinner on the table for them. In a few years when they have grown up and gained some perspective on life, then they might understand...
I agree, shocking attendance considering the circumstances, some 'fans' should be ashamed. Those of us that did go should be proud, great atmosphere despite losing for most of the game and a poor performance from the lads. WE WILL NEVER DIE!
...and before you say anything, no that is not me. For one game to show your support is not too much to ask in my eyes, the club were doing special offers, for family's, couples etc, ok i can understand work commitments, living away or other responsibilities, but i can guarantee there were a lot of people who were sat at home who couldn't be bothered, and they will be the same people who only turned up when we were in the premier league.
You might forgive you might not, I don't care but I do love some of the not nasty but dig threads that get you guys so flustered. I always look back at the old BBC 606 and think of the muppets we had to put up with and have a chuckle and think av some.
Sorry I forgot to mention the fair weather fans and JCL's. But yes PTID if PFC means so much to the city of Portsmouth then wider support should be shown. Too many soppy men burning their cash on Valentine's Night to keep their (ungrateful, capricious, spoilt) memsahib happy, instead of going to the footie.
I think it was one guy, doing the voices of Kermit, Fozzie (wakka wakka), Miss Piggy et al, by himself.
