We should be receiving some good news from the FA today regarding Mr Sessegnon. Definite 3 game ban, dangerous the way he jumped in. Excellent player so it would nice to see him miss the game. Watched it a few times and I can't see the FA doing anything other than a ban given recent ones with Balotelli, Cabaye etc. They're not interested in intent, just the dangerous aspect. Sessegnon could have seriously hurt Arteta.

Although it makes us sound petty, it was a definite stamp. He took the risk by going studs in and caught the player. Red card. I have to laugh at the mackems, they went wild over Huth, yet can't see the wrong doing here.

Ahh so you're scared of him - I saw the replay which shows very little - no injury and looks to me like the ref saw it - where do you get the "good news from the FA" from?? Or is it simply that you hope??

Let's compare it to Cabaye's 0 game ban for his stamp on Jay Spearing shall we? Which majority of the mags on here defended

By the way - he missed everything - may have brushed the player but certainly not a stamp!

Also - the Huth red card was harsh (we all admitted that) - what we went mad at was Tony ****er Pulis and the way he went on

Look at Arteta - rolling over 4 or 5 times after the challenge - you cannot do that if you're hurt - very little in it for me

It wasn't a stamp, it was an attempted tackle where Spearing flew in but won the ball. Cabaye should have been off.

Your double standards is laughable Marcus. We felt an injustice over Cabaye getting banned, the ref saw that one also. Sessegnon stamped downwards with his studs an got the player. Arteta was clearly annoyed, should be 3 games. Huth barely touched the lad, no studs showing and you were screaming for a ban.

Cabaye's tackle on Spearing was the worst
    Then Sessegnon's 'stamp'
    Then Cabaye versus Brighton

I don't know how the FA work (does anyone!) but let's hope he gets banned because he's a good player.

I'd love him to be missing from the Sunderland team, too. He's probably their best player and could really hurt us.

It's really difficult to tell whether Sessegnon stamped on Arteta with real intent - only he will know that. He obviously caught him, but I wouldn't call it a full-on stamp either. So I reckon he'll get away with it.

i cant see any website talking about it so most likely nothing will happen, same with RVP elbow...only us because we are in a 'false position' and everyone hates it so wants us to do bad

I want Sessegnon to play so the Mackems can have no excuses when we hammer them again.

Marcus - I am simply expecting some good news from the FA. This is based on the video footage and the FA having set their stall out on these matters recently. I wouldn't say we fear him but as your best player, we certainly won't mind him being suspended. It would be like Ba missing out and asking a Sunderland fan if they are pleased he'll miss the game. Maybe 1% would say "no I want them at full strength".

I don't think its about comparing with Cabaye etc or about Arteta's reaction. But to be fair I'd say Cabaye on Spearing was misleading when slowed down. Watched at full place he just seems to be protecting himself from Spearing's undoubtedly over zealous challenge. Sessegnon jumped in two footed in a dangerous manner. I don't believe he did mean to land on Arteta but the FA simply have to act on what they can see. It doesn't look very good if you look at the replay and would certainly represent dangerous play under the current rules. You simply cannot go jumping around with studs up like that under the current rules.

All about opinions this but Cabaye's (IMO) was one of the worst unpunished fouls I've seen since Shearer's kick on Neil Lennon - as I say - None of that video shown above shows anything conclusive

I'm like you WP - Would like to see Krul, Ba, Cisse (although if he plays like he did against Spurs I wouldn't mind!) missing from your side as a forward line of Lovenkrands/Best or one of those and Shameobi doesn't exactly start the heart pounding with fear - **** the full strength - I want your best players injured (only short term mind as I wouldn't wish long term injury on anyone!!)

Not looking forward to the derby. Never do regardless of form, fitness or otherwise. We're due a defeat in one truth be told so I'll just keep things crossed. We've the hoodoo over you for a while but we're a bit hit and miss at present. Cabaye and Tiote will make a big difference of course.

I don't think the FA work on conclusive anymore. This year it just seems if there is a chance it might have been on purpose then you're done. No doubt this on the instruction of UEFA to curb us violent English.

I've only seen it when it happened and it looked absolutely nothing apart from Arteta being a tart. Probably not as bad as you've made out though even on replays because no one else has mentioned it from either club, the press or the FA from what I can see.

It's definitely a stamp but unlike Cabaye's or Ballotelli's , it wasn't an off the ball incident. He could argue with the FA that he was going for the ball , even if his intentions weren't that good ...

Imagine if he'd done it to Meyler. The lad would still be rolling about now.

Shola hates sunderland so much that he lowers his game so hes got all that extra energy to unleash the beast on derby days.

Is it just a coincidence that the only people who think action should be taken against Sess are Skunk supporters...
