It would be nice if once in a while some of this guy's critics, of whom there are far too many, showed the guts to eat a bit of humble pie and apologise publicly. Players do read these forums. "But what does he bring to the party", I hear you say? JM wins balls, plays good passes, never stops running, gets into the right positions and is generally far more accurate in his shooting than any of our other players. His never-say-die attitude inspires other players and spurs us fans to show our support and get behind the team. Well? We "Mackie lovers" are still waiting.
When Mackie plays football he reminds me of me on ice skates. He doesn't seem to have much coordination or style about him. But he plays with his heart on his sleeve and just doesn't know when or how to give up. I've said before that he isn't cut out for the premiership, but if he carries on scoring then maybe he will just make it. He might not be a Messi or Rooney in the making, but passion and commitment is something the rest of out team is missing at the moment and they'd do well to take a look at Mackie. I'd say after what he showed us yesterday he should be first name on the team sheet for our next game.
Thank you for that. I respect the views of those who say that he seems a bit uncoordinated and lacking in certain attributes necessary for a PL footballer. But then, so was Kevin Keegan. I don't recall Liverpool fans of the early 70s ever slagging him off when he had a bad game. Jamie Mackie has the same ability to get team mates and fans all believing that he (and we as a team) can do it. Warnock to his everlasting credit saw that. Hopefully now so does Mark Hughes. He should always be the first name on the team sheet.
To be fair, he's obviously better as a forward rather than a winger (which he ain't!!). I would start him up front with Zamora for the next two games, but it's hard to see where he'll fit in once Cisse returns. Once Cisse is back I would use Mackie as an impact sub when goals are needed.
Along with Helgusson, Faulin and Derry, Mackie is a hard worker and plays for the team. This is what was missing yesterday in the first half. Unfortunately there are better players technically than these players (except Faulin), but they cetainly don't have the heart.
i saw a premiership and international player score two great goals yesterday... the fickle will be named and shamed at the season end support your team you fickle ****ers
He was great yesterday when he came on, and looks like he should continue up front at least until Cisse is back. He always gives everything for the team, but he has had games when he has been very ineffectual. As someone else said we do have players whose perfomances seem to vary a lot, Buz especially, but also Mackie.
Ok ,he was very good yesterday when he came in. He tore the blackburn's defence in and out many times and with a bit of luck he would have scored a hat-trick. Yes ,sparky should put him up with Zamora and not play him in a wing-role. All im afraid of that Blackburn match was one off display from Mackie. Hope he proves me wrong because his attitude is beyond doubt.
Makie always give his all for the team and is in no way a bad player. Dont think he's quite as good technically as a lot of premiership players, but he does make up a lot in hard work Problem is, sometimes hard work just aint enough. i like him but as said earlier, when Cisse returns i think we'll struggle to fit him in. Great sub if we're 2 down with 20 to go though. Good luck to him, i wish i could get some of my guys at work to work like him !! And no i dont work on a chicken farm !!
Gotta love a player who has pride when he puts that qpr shirt on,and scores as well, more than a certain swp?
Yes Mackie is someone who is proud of the shirt and will give his all and never give up. He is 100% committed to the cause. Now if Barton and SWP had just 10% of this commitment (to QPR) and were just 10% as proud to wear the blue and white hoops, they would be 100% better players than they are now. Mackie, for all his shortcomings, deserves to play for the team. Barton for one does. There are others too regretably. A team full of Mackies would survive in the Premiership - albeit only just A team full of Bartons would be relegated and then the next season relegated again.
It looks like Jamie will be around for a while, THANK GOODNESS. This will save several people on here a trip to Cardiff so you can turn off the engine and save that money on the petral! WHO ARE YA???? YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE????? COME OUT, COME OUT WHERE EVER YOU ARE Schhhhhhhh............ Mark Hughes has laid praise to Jamie Mackie, whose two-goal cameo from the bench was not enough to save the R's from defeat at Blackburn Rovers. The Scot was introduced as a 66th-minute substitute at Ewood Park on Saturday and pulled a goal back for QPR just five minutes later, before adding a stunning second in stoppage time. Incidentally, Mackie's brace came on a ground where the 26 year-old suffered a double leg break in a third round FA Cup tie just over a year ago. Speaking with www.qpr.co.uk, Hughes said: "It was important for Jamie. "Last year was a bad time for him but he's come through it and been great. "He's been unlucky not to be in the side and has started a number of games for me. "I thought that when he came on, we needed his energy and willingness to try and affect the game and get around people and that's what he did. "He scored a great (second) goal and has done his prospects, in my eyes, no harm whatsoever."
