Fan of the Year

Whilst looking around for the latest Argyle news as one does I came across a thread on PASOTI regarding the above competition. The thread was by Mr President and is in regard of Sue Pollard who was nominated as our fan of the year and has apparently made it into the final round to be judged next week. The thread was calling on Argyle fans to post their support for Sue which presumably would be forwarded to the Panel to enhance her chances of winning it. I then realised I had a problem with this.

My problem is not with the nomination of Sue Pollard or the calling for support of her to the Judges. From what I understand this lady did a lot of volunteering and collecting amongst other things so is fair enough as a candidate for me. My problem is that Mr President posted this thread on PASOTI and no other fans forum or in his page on the Argyle official website. By doing this or not doing it he is only asking one section of the fanbase for support. This is Mr President wh o is supposed to represent us all. Once again he demonstrates that the only fanbase he is interested in is PASOTI and nobody else is included in his world. Once again he demonstrates why he is not Presidential and for me is another reason he should get out of the job as soon as possible and let somebody do it who will include everyone rather than the favoured.

 

Plymborn took this point up on Pasoti and was told in no uncertain terms it was not the place to be saying things like this, and the post was split so that anyone who didn't want to just heap praise on Sue, and I honestly mean no disrespect to her, was moved to a seperate thread. El Presidente is not going to bother with this site, he isn't going to bother with ATD. He has his fan club on Pasoti where he will receive 100 replies praising him for getting up in the morning, and has the friends in the mods on Pasoti to remove any awkward questions he may face. It's unbelievable when Argyle could do with every fan possible at the moment, but thats how dictatorships work I guess.

It will be interesting to see how the peasants react to him the first time there is any sniff of Mr Brent doing something they don't like, or if we don't start climbing towards safety pretty soon.

 

I wasn't aware anyone had asked this of PASOTI or Mr Pres so I might go ferret about later and have a look. I have stated categorically that this has nothing to do with Sue Pollard whatsoever who I think is a very admirable lady and her like deserve some recognition. It is and always has been about Mr Pres and his attitude in that roll. He gets worse and worse at it and surely Brent will see this eventually. Others must be aware of the opinion on other boards who are closer to the inner sanctum and tell him all is not well.

 

Just had a read of the split thread and it just amazes me how people can think Webb's actions are ok. There is a post on there that just about sums it all up. "Chris posts on PASOTI where he gets support". They just don't get what a President is supposed to be do they. Usual suspects out panning plymborn for his cheek and all he was doing is asking if the thread should not be widened to all supporters which is a perfectly reasonable question given they are looking for support. I have not read one comment from anyone that says Sue Pollard should not be supported in the competition so I fail to see why it would be abused if posted anywhere else.

 

I did two replies on the Sue Pollard thread.........I did emphasis that Sue was worthy of reaching the final nomination......and no one can say that I said anything to the contrary.

But I did say that Sue Pollard deserved the support of all Argyle fans.....not just PASOTI members.

Also that Chris Webb was the Club President of PAFC....and all the fans....from whatever supporting site, and he should have put his thread on all sites.

This of course got a least two responses....... that I was hijacking Sue Pollard's appreciation thread.

My two replies and associated comments were removed.......I asked where had they gone........I was told they had been moved to the terraces site .....because they were deemed to be off topic and hijacking the thread.

I said that I was disappointed that that had happened..........in no way did I say anything but support for Sue Pollard and her nomination for "supporter of the Year"

I was also told that Chris Webb cannot post on ATD.......they have banned him.........is that true or not.....ATD say the don't ban anyone ?

I was also told that Chris had never heard of not606.......I told him it was nationwide and in other sports as well........he said when he had five minutes he would check it out.

Pasotimods I feel are rather edgy and self protective...............I will not talk of this subject anymore,....... and I will not post on PASOTI or ATD again they are not worth the hassle.

 

Lol there is no way Chris Webb is banned from ATD. His account may have been deleted in the last fews because he hasn't used it, but HE chose not to bother posting on there, because he doesn't like awkward questions. He does get stick on there, a lot of it brought on by himself. He posts on ATD in a totally aggressive manner, unlike his cosy relationship with Pasoti

 

Plymborn I looked at the replies you got and I can't see that anyone has said Chris is banned from ATD, so was this a message you received privately?

 

greenjock.........you are correct, there wasn't anything mentioned in the replies that you have been able to read.

 

The Man they call the president seems to be a complete Knob. I am not on pasti or ADT. I have read some comments on there tho. They all bow to that Knob The president. He will be sounded out by Brent one day surely. How can we send Brent an email to let him know off this prick and how he is on Pasti?

 

Brent's PR people should be aware of all football forums and at least look at the smaller ones now ang again to see what is being said. There should be no need to bring anything to his attention because if he is as astute as everyone gives him credit for he should already know.

 

Hope fully he will know and get rid of the clown sooner than later.

 

Apparently Chris's IP address is banned. The ATD mods are looking into it because they didn't block him. They are going to e-mail him to see if he will reconsider posting on ATD. He ought to check out this site too, however small it maybe, and post the Presidents Progress on here. I know it's on the official club site, but would be good for him to recognise Not606.

 

Absolutely greenjock. I don't want Webb to actively become a poster on here particularly I just want and expect him to reach out to everyone in his capacity as President which is what I have been saying since day one of commenting on it. I don't dislike the man as I don't know him personally I just dislike the way he manages the job he is meant to be doing and will continue to question his credentials until he does it properly.

 

I've given him a hard time in the past, same views as you really, but had a twitter exchange with him earlier and it was quite amicable so I hope the olive branch is accepted and he posts on other sites as well as Pasoti from time to time. He will get grilled on ATD though thats for sure, so it will be interesting to se how it goes.

 

But there is no need for him to partake in a grilling. All he needs to do is give the same information to all sites. If people wish to comment on what he has given out in information terms then so be it and he can let them run wild without adding to the initial post. It's not rocket science and he can then no longer be accused of keeping sections of the fanbase in the dark or excluding them. Whatever he thinks of individual sites is also no longer a complaint either as he will be treating them all the same and his own powder dry.

Recognition of not606 is long overdue..........I contacted GOS to ask why do you not have us in your affiliated list of PAFC supporting organizations........If you include internet chat forums such as PASOTI and ATD..........why not....... not606............the answer was........no answer at all........just totally ZILTCH........thank you GOS.....I do browse and enjoy your site.........the weekly match photos etc........I think as a small Plymouth supporting website we deserve a mention..........Chris Webb said that he did not know of us........but GOS cannot say that.......they have been e-mailed and the e-mail did go somewhere.........please speak to us GOS.

Not sure why, but I knw Ian Newell told me yesterday he is sueing two of the members for libel, and one of the moderators told me ina private message that it was becoming increasingly difficult to moderate the site with so many strange goings on, new members sending messages with "info" on Ian Newell, accounts being hacked etc. and that a couple of the ATD regulars had openly said that they would not be sticking to the Truce that had been called for between ATD and Pasoti. It was interesting that Ian Newell had called for a truce in private to the ATD moderators, but was unwilling to post anything on Pasoti to the same effect.

It's such a shame that the site has gone because there were some extremely knowledgable posters on there, who had some very interesting views on what has gone on/is going on at Argyle, and had suffered personally for airing their views. I was set up by Ian Newell myself not so long ago and I know that some of the others had suffered abuse and a dirty tricks campaign for airing their views.

I know the way that some posters behaved towards Pasoti was over the top, but I guess it's frustrating being banned simply for holding an alternative view or asking questions other than the spoon fed crap broadcast on Pasoti. I guess Pasoti will be celebrating today and Ian Newell amongst others crowing that they have won, a bit like he is at the fact that Exeweb, the City forum, has become as sanatised as Pasoti, even though he has posted on there himself as Porkus over 10,000 times and most of those posts would not have remained on Pasoti, case of the pot calling the kettle black. There is a suggestion that Ian Newell may now even have some involvement in owning/moderating the Exeweb site, as he also does with Pasoti.

Well I certainly won't be using Pasoti anymore, so I will use Not606 a bit more than I have been, and as Myself and Sensible have mentioned this site often, we may even get some new members soon,

I don't see it changing anything.......Pasoti mandarins will suffocate any free speech from opposing views.

I think one of two things might happen.......

1).....A new Argyle website set up by those that oppose PASOTI.

OR

2).....anti PASOTI posters might come to us and change the outlook of this site.......and that would be a problem for our supermod........or maybe not.......free speech and all that ?
