The same reaction when we sipped from the championship and then L1 - resignation to the inevitable but with a heavy heart. TBH we are halfway there already.

I think gutted would not begin to describe it. I've known some pretty bleak times over the years but I have never known the club to be in this position before or at least can't remember it if they have. But the one thing I would add to that is that I still could not give up on them and would still continue to go to matches at home. If the worst thing happens then I do think we would come back from that and I still think we would climb to a minimum of league one if not back to the Championship one day. Being a football supporter at a lower league club is a bit like having kids. You know they are going to fail at something one day and will let you down but you still love them and keep supporting and backing them whatever they do.

Despair. The BSP or Conference or whatever else it's called is non-league. Non-league football so recently after playing in the Championship. And it's not that easy to climb straight out and back into the League. Only one automatic promotion place and one via the play-offs. Doesn't bear thinking about.

It took until 1990s for Argyle ever to visit the basement Division..........and it was unbelievable that one of those visits left us bottom after the first four games......but it didn't take us long to put that right. This season administration brought a completely different ball game.....and being in the bottom two for nearly the whole time is so unreal.

Firstly let me say that I hope you survive in L2.

I have always thought with my own club, that I would hate to fall into the Conference. Strangely though, not for the reasons you may think.
Not because it is non-league football if you want to call it that. Not because of pride or how it represents you as a club.

My reason for not wanting to go there is because some of the teams are better than the current League Two clubs and it would be so difficult to get out of, and seeing clubs such as Darlington, Stockport, Lincoln, even Newport in the lower half of that league is a lesson for all.

I actually believe that the Conference should be part of the current league set-up, which it already partly is with its auto promotion and playoff place. Maybe a League Two North/South with the Conference merged. Hopefully that would also help increase attendances across the board, whilst cutting costs for fans and clubs alike.

Yes north and south divisions was the way it was run years back...........saving Argyle thousands of miles of travelling and the cost thereof.

Thoughtful post brb, most fans would liken their club going into non league to a drunk laying in the gutter-shamed.

Exactly, most fans would. That is what some fans also do not get. I am a traditionalist through and through. I will support my team until the day I die, regardless of what league they are in. As for the drunk laying in the gutter-shamed - it is only those that have entered or have expectations of the Pampers League that feel that shame, simply because they have lost touch with reality.

Point I was making brb was that a lot of Argyle fans would see it that way,as for a sense of reality,I watched Torquay in quite a few games when they spent two seasons in the then Conference. My experience was that there were at best half a dozen teams with quality, the rest were basically rubbish although now there are a lot more recent ex league teams in there.Think you can hardly doubt our support given our crowd sizes in the circumstances.
