Well done lad's ! I think this game showed us what Nick wants from the team, and now maybe wer'e learning to play trhe Barmby way. It's hard to pick a motd from-Hobbs,Mckenna,Fryatt oh and Koren. Nice to see Tws lose too ! Bloody cold though wasn't it !
Portsmouth doing us a favour at Blackpool at the moment too. The Birmingham game is set-up as a real six-pointer now let's hope we dispatch them like we did Reading a few weeks ago.
Good result today and nice to see us put a few of our chances away. Tough game on Tuesday but there's no point fearing them. Draw or a win would be an excellent result.
i think we can win, but would snap your hand off for a draw if offered.. erik, dont worry i once had a dream i was Doctor Whos Assistant, and reckon theres more chance of that happening..
This is the exact kind of game you can see us winning with a second half Fryatt goal. If we concede in the first half we might have a problem but the longer it stays nil-nil the better for us.
win, lose or draw the brum match and there's still an awful lot of games to help us finish the season in the top 6. its not a must win game for me.
It's pretty tight up there (3 points separating 3rd down to 9th). Based on our points per game so far of 1.69 (49 from 29), a continuation of this would leave us with 77-78 points. That SHOULD be enough to make the playoffs. I reckon it's going to take at least 73 or 74 (less than 1.5ppg for the rest of the season) to make the playoffs this year so we can't afford to let our form drop too much. Big test coming up midweek but, as you say, not quite must win yet. It would however signify our intentions to both the other teams and fans if we did win.
Seems like City have let slip a few chances to really strengthen their position this season. The obvious one was at Middlesbrough - a game we deserved to win but lost and at home to Doncaster - if we had won we would now be in 3rd spot, four points behind Saints with a game in hand. This game against Birmingham is another opportunity to make the 3rd spot our own and with Southampton playing West Ham next we could be in the perfect position to take advantage of any slips by the top two. This will be one of our toughest games this season, but let's hope it's third time lucky.
He'll be on the bench. Also, this is Fryatt's kind of game. I said the same thing before Reading, but Fryatt was dropped so Brady got the goal instead. Fryatt seems to mess up in front of goal more when in front of an expectant crowd but away from home in this kind of game when we are underdogs is when he has won us games in the past (I'm thinking Forest last year, Ipswich this season, etc.)
Just winding you up a little sorry. I am pleased for Fryatt but to be fair my Auntie Barbara would have run those two centre halfs ragged and her knees have well gone. They were awful. Its not a negative of us but how bad they were.
