NOT ONE OF OUR PLAYERS COULD BE FAULTED TODAY THEY WERE ALL SUPERB.

I just wish there was a hill I could shout it from.

Nigel got his selection and tactics spot on today.

Totally agree and I thought that Hammond was great when he came on. He and Fonte stopped their no 20 in his tracks. I don't think he knew what had hit him.

What I liked best about today was the determination and the willingness to be nasty.

  6. Godders, why only an 8 for Sharp? What aspect of his game was missing today do you think or what could he have done better?

So Godders no more panicky articles about houses with cracks, or comments like "We have lost our form and have a manager who seems not to know what to do about it"? Well, not until Tuesday eh?

He had obviously read my comments, seen that my analysis of the problem was spot on and immediately set about changes to bring things into line with my recommendations.

Hey presto our season is fired up once more.

Rickie and Morgan were my bench marks and he was just a little short on both of them.

I agree with this. Yes even the Guly one he didn't do much in my eyes but was better than he has been in the last few games.

Yes that's probably true and we should all be grateful that he did read them, but if anything had cracks showing it was your faith in Nige.

16 fouls but not a booking in sight, nearest was the mistimed tackle by Guly, credit to Burnley they played hard and apart from the usual unseen Lambert wrestle/shirt tugs mostly fair.

For me Lambert was motm by a fair bit his presence on the pitch is incredible and if there is a more influential player in this div i have not seen him his skill ,football intelligence ,strength, goalthreat and input for his his teamates is to be admired he must be close to the the perfect front man. Though its Ricky for me the all round play was brilliant and no one dissapointed and Richardson by the way crosses a ball better than most wingers

He models himself on Gareth Bale, all he has to do now is score a few goals.

Are people even watching the game? I am one of Guly's biggest critics but his work-rate was second to no one else out there today. He was brilliant. He was also great on the ball today. Amazed at people having a dig at him, negative and blind. And by the way, Richardson getting less than 8 is laughable. He got an assist, got forward a lot and still was extremely solid in defence. Burnley offered absolutely nothing in attack down the left. I have no MOTM, all the players on 8 share it

    Davis- 7
Fox - 6 - The only player to have a bad game. Caught out of position first half a lot. Burnley looked dangerous down the right as a result.
    Fonte- 8
    Hooiveld - 8
    Richardson 8
    Cork 8
    Morgan 7
    Lallana 8
    Guly 8
    Lambert 8
    Sharp 7.5

EDIT- I meant to give Cork 8 not sure how it ended up with 7 showing

Davis-7 did rellay have loads to do, couple of long range shots that he saved well and crosses
richardson-8 done well defnsevly got foward well ran the LB ragged with he foward, IMO i think his final ball could of been a bit better
    fonte- 8 played well
hoovield-8 control the airal battles i thought and looked comfortable
fox-7.5 got foward well his crosses were more accurate and did well in defnse
guly-8 RM suits him so much more to be fair don't like him playin down the middle, he worked hard and looks like he will be fighting puncheon for that place.
    cork-8 soild
schnderlin-8 IMO he controled the midfield at time in that match and he tackled back the only thing that annoyed me was he gave away a couple of aviodable free kicks but that is been picky.
lallana-8MOM he gave us the lead and gave the defense a bad time i will give him MOM because he got first goal in an important game and played very well
lambert 8-does what lambert does OWN
sharp7/8-home debut made good runs and on another day if the ball feel nice for him he could of scored three instead of one.

    7-hammond and conner

It is nice to have some good positive responses to the way the team played. You have to remember that Burnley have equal best away record in the Championship. So they were no push overs.
This was one game I was looking forward to seeing, unfortunately it was also the day my grand daughter decided to come home from Hull. I did get up there and back by 14.30 (Having left at 04.00) but I was too knackered to rush down to the game. So I missed it.........Same happened to the Palace game couldn't attend that one either......
One thing that intrigues me from the posts on here is how different people seem to form different opinions as to how a player has played or his actual contribution to the game. There does seem to be some distinct differences between some posters views about individuals yet agreements on others. So is it a bias towards one or other players or have they genuinely seen the difference they state? Any way plenty of confidence to take to West Ham.......COYS.
