I don't know if anyone else hears this, but near where I sit in the South stand there were supporters complaining all the way through the game, even when we were winning 2/3-0 and in control of the game. I understand missing chances is fustrating, but these fans start berating the players, calling them ****e etc then praising them like Gods when they score or play the perfect pass. Furthermore, any pass back is bemoaned, keeping possession off the opposition and building up play slowly is also detested and there seems to be an expectation for us to be playing like Man City every week with every move coming off perfect. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but some of these things I hear people come out with at times watching the game is ridiculous. Some people are never happy if they're not complaining I guess! Good win today though, Tuesday will be a tough one but hopefully we'll get a positive result.
yeah i heard similar things too, minutes after going 2-0 up, somebody misplaced a pass to the disgust of some people, fair enough its still frustrating, but youd think they would cut some slack with the scoreline, but no, abuse was thrown...i just ignore it now, so used to it.
A bloke phoning in to Humberside said Hull fans are notoriously fickle. Think he has a point hearing some people!
I have to agree with this article, its pretty ridiculous the attitude of some fans. The worst thing is they where talking about how we couldn't string to passes together and that we should stop hoofing it. These are the same people who had a go at us for passing sideways against Doncaster and not getting it forward. I think the intelligence of some of them is the main issue.
I think the main issue is the people that moan like that probably are **** at football and don't understand the game. They are football ******s who go to be involved in something with the masses, a social outing if you like and they wouldn't be interested in going if we ended up back in the bottom division with crowds of 4k. As far as fickle fans go, every team in the country have similar problems. I just ignore it now because they are clearly numpties who know little to nothing about what they are watching and talking about.
Just Premier League pansies still attached to the club by a season pass, hoping this campaign pays off with a return to the promised land. I have a family of them sat behind me every game. Just lack any football knowledge basically.
On the East side of the South Stand; people complain the whole way through! We go 2-0 up, and then keeping posession isn't good enough, it has to be "TURN... FORWARD," even at 3-0 they weren't happy calling players "useless" and "sh**e"... they were trying to be adventurous because they were 3-0 and had the game won (except King, still don't think he's good enough... David Amoo Mk. 2)! Some people really need to get a grip, it was actually a good team performance today, capped off with Super Matty Fryatt FINALLY scoring. So let's go to the Brummies and go to 3rd in the league! UTT
Exactly the same in the East stand. Two nil up and still moaning. On the players case if they misplace any pass / miss shot and never praise them when things go right. Its ridiculous!!
"They" tend to be a very, very small number that get too much attention of the wrong sort. We had one or two near us that were eerily quiet until it looked like the opposition had got a foothold, then they'd loudly criticise the player of their seemingly random choice. Their habit was highlighted to them. One moved, the other still lapses but is better and can laugh when he realises now. If you can't have a word in their ear, supporting the player they're barracking by making a real fuss every time they do something can highlight the other peoples ignorance.
Know this is slightly off topic... but what did people think of the Safe Standing thing outside the sports bar? I thought it was quite impressive to be honest. Maybe it should be rolled in the North East corner? Where everyone just stands anyway.
To be fair I think every team in the country has fans like it. Overall the atmosphere was a lot better today, the early goal helped everyone including the players relax a little.
Agree with this totally, you get those that understand football and those that have no clue, and usually they are the ones that moan.
A guy near me was moaning at 3-0 that the substitutions weren't right. If we were losing or drawing I'd let him have his opinion but with 10 minutes to go I'd say you can rest whoever you want and give a chance to whoever else you fancy. And in any case there was nothing wrong with the subs. He was saying it was too attacking (yes you read that right) changing to 4-4-2.
Some one near me said the same. In my opinion I thought they were good subs. Get Cairney and King a bit more game time and give the others a bit of a rest, as you say 10 mins to go and not exactly radical subs how can you complain. We were hardly going to throw 3 goals away. Yet again people who have no clue about football talking rubbish.
It was like an absolute library today, until we went 3-0 up. I loved the first goal though, every fan in the stadium stood up in near-silence, not daring to commit to celebrating
Yep, I have a few around me who love to moan, if we don't play perfect passes everytime then the players are ****, they've always got an opinion on what the player SHOULD of done, they don't take into account body shape, positioning or what foot the ball landed on, as said earlier I doubt these moaners have ever played football. I'm sick to death of hearing the moaning, we're having one of our best seasons in our history for **** sake, the players deserve better. And any "fan" that calls our players **** or useless has no idea about football, I'd say our starting 11 and bench would get into most of the rest of the Championships starting 11's, chill out and enjoy our great team.
Also agree with this, where we sit (west stand upper) there is always the same people telling the players how **** they are when a pass goes astray or Brady/Stewart does not beat his man, I just laugh.
