    Indoor pitch?

Our training facilities are a field with a knackered old building in one corner...

It does seem on odd thing for them to sponsor, barely anyone sees it.

Our training facilities are terrible, I remember when I was at uni they used the 3g pitches there to train on and go there for fitness testing. Do they even have a full gym at that ground or do they still go to local gyms? (I remember them going to Total fitness, they used to take all the bloody machines)

It does make you wonder if players decide not to come here due to our lack of facilities. If I turned up as a pro and saw that glorified shed of a building i'd find it laughable.

The Man U lads after being at their Carrington training ground must of got a shock when they saw our training ground.

Wonderful airport, Humberside. The only runway in the world with a cattle grid at the end.

Facilities will play a part in players decisions to join clubs but I would have thought more senior pro's and not so much the young players

I think that's a great idea. It lets the pilot know when to slam the anchors on

I could have sworn I remember the facilities being seen as really good only a few years ago, when did they get ****? Or did I make it up?

In fact, how long have we been there?

I can't remember how long we've been there, but it's been a fair while(the site used to belong to Northern Foods), as far as I know it was always ****e.

The Club have had proposals for a covered 3G pitch at both the KC and County Road for some time now..

Millhouse Woods Lane was originally Hull Brewerys sports ground and then became Northern Foods sports ground.

AP bought it for £200k not long after we moved into the KC - spent some money relaying redraining pitches but clearly the old tired clubhouse (with some recent hotch potch extensions) is no longer fit for purpose.

The site is not big enough for an Academy even though the location is quite nice.

The problems spilling over from the PL have scuppered Melton and we now seem to be in limbo as where to go from here.

My university facilities are much much better as are most the other uni's we play against. I can see that **** hole as a major problem with attracting players, we need a training ground to match our stadium and ambitions for that matter.

Well the airport were announced as the sponsor in November 2004, which was when we were in L1. So I'm assuming the commisioning of the whole project was around the same time.

    http://www.hull.co.uk/news.asp?PageID=74&MediaCategoryID=9&NewsID=210&MediaType=news

There are 3 things to take from that article:

    1) "The training ground, which will be used by the club's youth and senior players, comprises two full-sized pitches, a gymnasium, state-of-the-art changing rooms, doctor's and physio room." - We appear to have better facilities at our current youth base than we have at the first team site.

    2) It was a £1M investment - thank **** there was a sponsor covering some of the cost of that.

    3) "It will provide the Tigers with a base to train and develop professionally with the same standards as those set at the KC Stadium." - who wrote that?

That building's got to be earlier than 2004, surely?

It looks like it was built in the 70's.

It will be, but it will have been a renovation when we acquired the site in 2004. I can only assume the renovation work was entirely on the inside of the building.

Rip off Britain for you, I bet Fritzl didn't have to spend £1M to get the basement of his dreams installed.
